:D Yeah, I drink it.
Although the bright idea to put wine inside and box and tap it seems like a quintessentially American thing to do—it turns out it wasn't our idea.
The Australians were actually the first to popularize the BIB (bag-in-box) phenomenon in the 1960s. Today "wine casks," as they call them down under, still make up almost half of the country's wine sales; it's only recently that bottled wine has edged boxes out of the majority.
But America has been slow on the draw.
Europe has barely hesitated in jumping on the bandwagon, and is now atop the heap when it comes to quality, with top producers like Dominique Lafon in the Macon, Jean-Marc Brocard in Chablis, and Josef Leitz in the Rheingau boxing affordable wines. It's also an emerging trend in Paris where BIB wines from smaller producers can be found in many of the city's wine shops.
But America has been slow on the BIB draw.

I drink it cause I'm not near as arrogant or knowledgeable about wine as I am beer and whiskey.
And mainly, it's for my health so I see no point in buying more expensive bottles on the regular.

I don't get them cuz I just don't drink that much. I waste too many half bottles of wine as it is. I know the box is supposed to prevent that waste, but I drink it so slow it gets pushed to the back of the fridge and I forget about it; by the time I remember it's there it seems too old or I'm no longer interested in it and want something new.

balli, you fuckin queef. You sure do talk about "healthy choices" alot :lol no one respects fo that, so you know.
now that that is cleared up, what kind of whiskey do you drink?
and you have to realize that a nice bottle of wine is worth every penny. fuck your self-perceived arrogance.
The best thing about boxed wine is after you're done, you can open up the top, put in a plastic bag, and voila, instant chuck can. :vomit:

boxed wine is good for taking on river floats. remove the bag and place it in the cooler and it takes up minimal space for maximum boozage.

Don't be a dick. I'm not looking for respect; in the thread about cheap wine, I'm stating the sole reason for why I drink cheap wine. You wouldn't have seen me bitching about how nobody thinks your cool for floating fucking rivers.
I get a bottle of Glenlivet single malt 12 year every 3 months or so. Other than that I drink Jameson 12 year cause it's the best blend I've found given the cost/quality ratio. For my taste anyway. Fuck regular Jameson and Jameson Gold Reserve or whatever. Sometimes I buy this High West rye shit that they bottle in Park City.
I do realize that a good wine is worth it if you're into it; I just don't give a shit because I don't enjoy it as much as beer or whiskey and I don't want to pay for another expensive habit.

Glenlivet 12 is tha bomb. Can't do Jameson, but if I was forced to I would. At least it's Catholic whiskey. I don't buy Glenlivet hardly ever though cuz I'll end up finishing the bottle in a day or two and not really spreading it out to enjoy its greatness properly.
If we are talking whiskey I'll get Makers or Woodford Reserve if I feel like splurging.

I used to drink plain old Jamey but I can't after going to the 12 year. It's like 2 different brands they're so different.

I could definitely get interested in champagne in a box. It's the only thing that never gives me a hangover :)

I don't think I've ever had my own bottle of makers. You ever try the glenlivet 18 year? My pop drinks that shit and is a jew bagel about hooking it up, but the few times I've tried it I could tell how much better it is than the 12. And yeah, the 12 is exceptional.

Like 10 bucks. In Utah though? Shit's so taxed across the board that you can't be picky.
Edit: picky about the glenlivet, that is.

Glenlivet 12 is one of the best for the price of the aged single malts. Either that or if you can find some MacCallan 10. Which is rare. But cheap enough not to make your balls explode.
Haven't tried 18 but have tried the Glenlivet Nadurra. Not sure how aged that is, but it seriously tastes like pure grain alcohol. It's stronger than normal single malts too. Not for me.

I know the box is supposed to prevent that waste, but I drink it so slow it gets pushed to the back of the fridge and I forget about it; by the time I remember it's there it seems too old or I'm no longer interested in it and want something new.How is it even possible to waste a bottle of wine unless you are buying the gallon size. A bottle of wine is usually 4 glasses, 2 for you and 2 for your man over dinner. If you want a happier man, you could drink all 4 and slur to him how much you love him. Plus if you have any left over, use it for cooking.
Glenlivet 12 years is the bomb. I prefer to deaden it with lots of ice and a splash of h2o, still great though. I think a good size bottle of it is around 50ish. If I drink a blended whiskey then I like Crown Reserve, Makers is damn good, if you're on a budget Famous Grouse ain't to bad.
I've always wanted to get into brandy but warm brandy is a very aquired taste, just use it to dip your cigars in or if you're thuggin it, your black and milds.

Well I'm the only wine drinker in the house. I will occasionally consume an entire bottle myself, but I move pretty rapidly from the feel good stage to :sleep so it doesn't really make much sense to do.
No thanks, in most cases. It is awesome for those get togethers like the river where quantity is the goal.

Couldn't believe that I couldn't find cask wine in Ireland and Scotland this year. Cheapest stuff out and no where to be seen.
Goon punch is alright but.

The Nadurra is good, but for a damn good cheap single malt look no further than Lismore - ~$22 a bottle. It's used in a lot of blends.

If you're gonna drown it in ice and water, why bother drinking decent scotch?

Don't tell Mr. Maalox about that, he might start worrying about "seeming too old".

Actually, what's funny about that is I drink Utah microbrew low point beer and have for so long that I don't enjoy beer with the alcohol content that is usually standard everywhere else. As much anyway. I guess I have no room to talk tbh.

Sometimes I like to get my shots chilled but then it has a water downed taste which makes it worse(tequila, tuaca).
