Or, that real painful wrestling hold of raking their finger nails on their opponents back.
Or, that one where they held their opponent's face to the top rope and then slid their eyes across the entire length.
Or, when they'd slam their opponent's face into the turnbuckle 10 times, but, after the nineth the opponent would resist & refuse to finish the 10 count, instead would reverse the predicament.

My favorite was the whole "Step across the person's back" move. My dad showed my bro and I how to do it, and it was a staple in our arsenal. That and the backbreaker were easy-to-fake moves for kids that still looked decent.

The glory days. Savage and his feud with Steamboat was just classic material. Both men in prime condition of their youth. Went on for like 5 years. They had it down so fine. They couldn't even keep the match going too long at live events because the emotions of the crowd were so high pitched. It was an incredible time.
Now that was the shit ...i was very young ...but man that was as legit a rivalry inthe world of scripted sports "entertainment"
Another fave was the feud between former Governor (and Predator actor) Jesse the Body vs. "chico" santana ...LOL
Jesse got away with some shit that would of been considered racist by today's standards ...
I was a fan of : Steamboat, Macho man, Tito Santana, Jimmy supafly snuka, the junkyard dog, the British Bull dogs, Jake the snake and young Brett the hitman ...(forgot his tagteam partner around then)

The Montreal Screw Job at the 1997 Survivor Series was tough to watch. I felt bad for Bret Hart getting shafted like that by Vince in his hometown. I know Hart didn't like his character role and was leaving to WCW, but it shouldn't have ended like that. That was a horrible moment as a wrestling fan.
I know he and Vince had that WM match last year and added closure to it but still.

And of course Ultimate Warrior i wa snever a Hulk Hogan fan, (like Cully) he had no great moves and his persona seemed the fakest "hulking out" ...Loved when warrior just came in a whupped ass didnt say much ...kind of like wrestlings version of Mike Tyson ...
But i never got in to the rock, or stone Cold of any of that shit ...once I was in college I pretty much ignored wrestiling. Im my ealry 30's so I grew up in the 80's era so that is where my only memories of RR, WM SS come from ...I stopped watching during the first reign of the undertaker ...

You missed out on the peak years. Yes 80's got them to that point but WWF will never be greater than the attitude era.
You also missed out on an epic Iron Man Match between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. HBK won the wwf title for the first time ever.

I was a huge Ultimate Warrior fan growing up in the 80s! Does anyone remember "Warrior" or "Renegade" or whatever the hell his name was from WCW? I could never figure out if that was the same dude or a terrible rip off...
Also, loved playing the video games and refusing to pin anyone unless I put them down with the signature finishing move :lol Bam Bam Bigelow was the shit in that one game that was more of an arcade-style fighting game (his fist would look like fire with hard punches)... can't remember which one that was but I had a blast playing it.
Stopped watching around 2000 or after about a year or so after the whole NWO thing died down and DX was played out.

Kurt was awesome. Back when he still had hair I saw an interview with him on Conan. They were talking about how thick his neck is and he recounted a story from his college days. He was chatting up some chick at a party and she says, "You know what you remind me of?" He's expecting her to make some sort of complimentary comparison and she goes, "A thumb!" That's all I could ever think of after he shaved his head.
I stilll remember the promo he cut on his way to the ring to face the Big Show in DC. "It's appropriate that I'm wrestling tonight in our nation's capital because I have so much in common with many of the great men who have worked here. Like George Washington I cannot tell lie: the Big Show is a big disappointment. Like Abe Lincoln I am honest to a fault: I am going to destroy the Big Show. And like Marion Berry...actually I am NOTHING like Marion Berry and you people should be ashamed of yourselves for ever electing him! It's true! It's true!"

I don't know about you guys but one of my favorite matches of all time was the TLC match. Whether it was Summerslam 2000 or WM, it was the highlight of the night. Jeff Hardy is one of the craziest people to do some crazy stunts. These wrestlers don't get paid enough to risk their body like that. One serious bump when Jeff Hardy's on the ladder and he could be injured for life. And these matches actually helped Edge's career to become the next superstar in the league.

IIRC, I saw the Hardy Bros when they were just starting out at a local event... they were all Christian (the religion, not the wrestler) themed... wore knock-off Rocker pants with things like "Faith" and "Charity" written on the side. Good thing they changed their image.

I don't like how the heel he was right now. I thought the best time when he was heel when he was doing the 5 second pose with Christian. I'm glad they are still with the company though.
Jeff Hardy has hit shot as well, but we all know that Jeff Hardy was more talented than Matt. But they complemented so well and had so much chemistry.
The Dudley boyz were amazing to watch. Loved the stutter Bubba Ray Dudley did in his promos. One moment that got me mad at the Dudley boys is when they 3D Trish Stratus on a table. This was terrific and hope one day they would return back to the WWE.
THE TAGTEAMS TODAY IS TOTAL SHIT. It is getting annoying how they ruin the tagteam concept and have like Cena and/or someone else beat like the tag team champions. When they do shit like that, they will not be taken seriously in the future. 2003 was probably the last time anyone actually took the tag team division seriously.

When I look back on it the times I was really into wrestling were the times that coincided with the strength of their tag team division. As a little kid I grew up watching the Hart Foundation, the Bulldogs, the Rockers, Demolition, LOD. Oddly enough I lost interest in wrestling after Bret Hart dropped the title to Shawn Michaels. For all the talk about how a San Antonio native had won the gold I really didn't give a shit. Huge Hitman fan, never liked Michaels. Got back into around the time the Rock went face after losing to Austin at Wrestlemania, but the tag teams from that time usually ended up stealing the show. E & C, the Hardys, Dudleys, the APA, the Hollys, the Rock and Sock connection, the briefly reunited Outlaws. Fucking hated those Two Cool breakdancing wigger bitches though. And even though they sucked balls I did get to meet T & A (just the wrestlers) in a Circuit City of all places in 2000. They were buying some CD's and I just walked over and got to shake their hands. My brush with greatness, lol. I will say this though, that lingerie table vid that Trish Stratus show while they were feuding with the Dudleys? Well let's just say that's the kind of thing that sticks with a high school boy without an internet connection.
Damn, it's crazy how much of this shit I remember.

I also remember when the WWF had that roundtbale discussion group on Monday nights with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. That was some funny shit. Monsoon was just perfect for that. He'd make you believe that it was like world events the way he'd play the straight man to Heenan's outrageousness. There were like four guys each week. I think Okerland was like the Emcee who kept it orderly.
And Heenan had that damn yellow banana telephone on his side of the table where he'd either get important calls or make 'em. It was all BS of course, but, he sold those calls like they real, with Gorilla rolling his eyes on the side.

i think it was supposed to be somewhat based on Jake the Snake Roberts with his family/drug issues.
i thought it was pretty good tho Culby's right in that it was pretty dramatized/fictionalized.
But not too many pro wrestling movies out there so i think its a must watch for the old school WWF fans.

There was a documentary about Roberts and his issues where he went back to his father's farm in it. There was some hints and innuendos by Roberts that molestation as a child was involved and that is what led to his substance abuse problems and ultimate downfall. The hints were veiled, but, reading between the lines you could make it out.

Rmember when they had that PPV event Legends of the WWF? The children and I looked forward to that like it was the end of the world. What a huge disappointment. They had a match with Snake where he was just strung out on drugs, grossly over weight. It was terribly sad.
Coco B Ware was there. Half the guys didn't even show up. It was rip off money wise, but, beyond that it was just horrible to behold these legends as almost skid row bums.
They didn't even have a locker room for them. They were just behind this curtain with no facilities and Roberts at one point turned his back on the camera and pissed in a garbage can.

I've read rumors on different websites (Wrestlezone, etc.) stating that Vince has paid The Rock a huge amount of money to wrestle again in the WWE, which will lead to a Cena vs. Rock match at Wrestlemania. Unfortunately The Rock won't be wrestling at WM27. It looks right now like he'll be the special guest referee for the Cena vs Miz WWE title match, in which he'll screw Cena over and Miz will retain the title.
Also The Undertaker is scheduled to wrestle Wade Barrett at WM27. Triple H will wrestle Sheamus. This could change based on if Sting signs soon and when Triple H comes back. There's just not enough TV time for Triple H to build something up with the Undertaker, which is why he'll most likely face Sheamus since they already have a storyline for that match.
I feel bad for Cully...The Rock comes back and he can't speak on it til the Allstar Break

Not a fan of the Taker/Game match at WM. WWE is screwing up a big chance to make Wade Barrett a top flight main eventer. Barrett needs to wrestle Taker and beat him at WM. I just can't see any benefit in HHH beating Taker. The streak is the biggest marketing tool the WWE has left and for someone like HHH to end it would be stupid. Having a young superstar like Barrett end the streak would be like Andre The Giant passing on the torch to Hogan at WM3. They don't need HHH vs Taker to up the buys either since having The Rock will do that alone. I know they plan on making this a career vs streak match again like last year and HHH isn't ready to retire for good which means he ends the streak, most likely with the help of HBK. WWE would get so much more out of it if they use the streak ending in a better way.

The whole Corre thing is garbage. They should have let barret go off on his own so he could face Taker. HHH should be facing Sheamus who took HHH out and put him on the self

I've heard that Triple H is actually going to lose, and retire. He's been doing a lot of the behind the scenes stuff since his injury, and feels like it is time to move on.

At first I thought this as well but he's as jacked up as he's ever been. It just doesn't make sense for them to put a retire stipulation on this match cause he's been gone for the past year anyway. It doesn't make sense for him to come back for a month and then retire. I really think HBK will cost Taker the match either by being the special guest ref or giving Taker SCM when the ref is distracted.

That would be a horrible mistake made by the WWE. They can't afford to not pay off an up and coming star by boosting his career. Ending the streak would catapult any heel to an instant main eventer. I guess it comes down to if Taker really wants to give that honor to anyone on the roster now. IMO the guy that could benefit the most is Barrett.

Agreed that, from a business standpoint, it makes no sense. I just think it would be the "right" thing to do, to give a guy this streak in support of his steadfast loyalty for two decades, even sticking with them after that horrible biker schtick.

Go on the WWE website, click "Watch" then "Order PPV." You'll see a tab that says "how to watch ppvs." Click "Blast Areas" and then put in the state you're in. It'll list the places that should be showing it. It's not all BW3s, but it seems like a bunch are broadcasting it.

It was all BS of course, but, he sold those calls like they real, with Gorilla rolling his eyes on the side.Good call once again. Bobby Heenan and Gorilla were by far the best wrestling comentators ever. Heenan was the quickest bullshit talker who could adlib some funny stuff on the fly. Back then the wwf could get away with racist and homophobic comments, making their dialogue even funnier. The mid 80's to early 90's was definitely the golden era of wrestling. Fuck that late 90's nonsense.

WHat happened to edge?
WHat happened to edge?
He retired because he didn't want to risk anymore potential back/spine injuries.
WHat happened to edge?
"Less than a week after his successful title defense against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII, World Heavyweight Champion Edge has been forced to retire from in-ring competition due to injury. The unexpected news brings to an end a storied WWE career spanning 13 years and consisting of 11 World Title reigns.
The Rated-R Superstar had been suffering numbness and uncontrollable trembling in his arms and hands. This is not the first time Edge has experienced these symptoms of nueropraxia. An MRI in Atlanta last Monday was sent to Dr. Joseph Maroon, a renowned neurosurgeon and professor of neurosurgery at The Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After careful examination of the MRI, it was determined that Edge would never be cleared to compete again, and thus, he is forced to retire.
In 2003, Edge underwent a two level spinal fusion of the discs between his C5, C6 and C7 vertebrae. After being cleared to compete, The Rated-R Superstar returned to the ring, resulting in stenosis of the spine, or a narrowing of the spinal column, above and below the fused discs. This narrowing resulted in less and less of the vital fluid needed to protect the spinal cord. Medical professionals cannot clear Edge to compete ever again in WWE since doing so could result in paralysis or even death."
