View Full Version : Nene wants to play in Miami
If you think the Nuggets simply have to resolve the Carmelo Anthony saga and move on, think again. Denver has another issue brewing, one that has been largely ignored with all the attention on Melo. It's the impending free agency of another player we're on a one-name basis with: Nene.
Like Anthony, Nene has an early-termination option he can exercise after the season, and sources say he is upset with all the attention focused on Anthony's situation while his isn't being resolved. Nene, arguably Denver's second-best player, has made a list of three teams he's interested in signing with or being traded to -- and not surprisingly, one of them is Miami, where his fierce interior presence would be the missing piece for the Heat.

Miami can't obtain him in a trade best chance of landing him would best as free agent. Of course thats depending on the new cba.
Ricky Rubio as well

No chance in hell there's going to be a mid-level exception once the league and the players' association agree on a new CBA. Not that a player as good as Nene would ever sign for that cheap of a deal anyways.

If Nene went to Miami, that would be the 3rd most egregious "assumption of power" next to Bron going to Miami and Gasol going to L.A. for peanuts.

Nene would beast on MIA. He is so underrated imo. He has very good hands, very good athleticism and can finish. He doesn't have a mid range game but he could pound it inside and Bosh can be the mid range guy.
Nuggets should definitely feature Nene more. Problem with him has been his health.

Nene can only get to Miami by taking a huge pay cut.
Rubio can only get to Miami if Minnesota trades him.
So, nothing to see here.

Don't be so nonchalant about it. He's arguably the 3rd best center in the league behind Dwight and Horford.
Bron/Wade/Bosh/Nene just wouldn't be fair.

Nene is the type of player imo that you would have a chance at him taking a pay cut. When you listen to him speak, especially about money, he doesn't seem as concerned about it as others.
In fact, I have heard him before speak about how he will likely walk away from the game, even if it means losing out on money to pursue Christian work.

Fuck Rubio. The Heat have the best defensive pg in the league in Chalmers who is only going to get better.
I'd love to get Nene, but he isn't a necessity.

Chalmers/Wade/James/Bosh/Nene= the most dominant and best defensive team in NBA History.

Every single starting PG and sub PG in the NBA is better than Rubio.

Yes I am dead serious. The only weak link would be Bosh but everyone else will cover up for it. The perimeter will be locking down anyone and everyone. The inside will be anchored by Nene. GREAT individual defenders + GREAT team D= best D ever if that lineup happens.

It all depends on what Miami can offer Nene. Even if he says money isn't an issue, he isn't signing for the vets minimum. It all hinges on the CBA. Nene would still want better than 1-2 million.:depressed

Do you really think he would say otherwise? He's still in Denver and is not gonna say he wants out on national TV.

Its not totally unlikely he takes a pay cut to play on a contender in South Beach

The Heat will most likely have Nene or Dalembert at C next year, assuming either takes a pay cut, which they probably will..
Nene has already openly expressed interest in Miami, and Dalembert is rumored to be interested, partly due to Miami's Haitian community..
In all honesty, this is probably the last season where any other teams have a chance to win the title..
