If Dallas/Fort Worth is North Texas where is Lubbock, Texas? Is that North Texas too? And if not why?

lubbock is considered west texas because of its locality and shit-grit desert climate. its also the entrance to the panhandle. basically where you dont want to be...ever.

:tu I drove back to San Antonio from New Mexico one time and I can't even describe how terrible the drive through the panhandle was.
