Yeah that really pissed me off how long the guy waited to start the clock. There should be sensors on the ball/players to detect this technologically, negating human error. That and who last touched on out-of-bounds - technology can DEFINITELY solve both of those issues.

This.

TD 21
02-04-2011, 02:22 AM
This might sound ridiculous, but the thing I'm most pleased and encouraged about in these two wins over the Lakers this season is that they didn't beat them by Duncan turning back the clock, or Ginobili playing out of his mind, or them shooting the lights out from three, or catching the Lakers when they were fat, happy and fatigued.

In fact, it's been the opposite of all those things. One of these games, Duncan might not necessarily turn back the clock, but just post his averages, the Spurs might actually shoot the three well, etc . . . and then what?

Be afraid Lakers fans, be very afraid.

gospursgojas

When does the media and lakers fans stop using the "coasting" excuse?

TD 21
02-04-2011, 02:26 AM
When they begin to use the "they're out of energy after having gone to three straight Finals" excuse . . . which is scheduled for sometime around late May, when the Spurs eliminate them in the Western Conference Finals.

Capt Bringdown
02-04-2011, 02:28 AM
Manu's mentally weak & selfish play almost pissed the game away in the 4th - it's clear that Artest was getting to him.
We shouldn't have been in the position to need a buzzer-beater to win, but I'll take it.
A fun win, but we can and should be playing a lot better than this.

Manu lead the charge and gave us the separation early in the 4th... Artest guarded him well, but it's not like Manu hasn't abused Ron Ron before... plus he had 8 dimes. Every player will have up and downs in the season. It's just good that we can still win when two of our top 3 guys didn't have good games.

Spurs were in control most of the game, outworking and playing tougher than any of the Fakers. The only fluke thing about it is that the Spurs missed 3 good shots on those soft LA boys, but it's LA so they gotta bring that drama and soak the streets in Faker Fan tears with .2. :cry

dav4463
02-04-2011, 02:42 AM
Artest locked down Manu at times I guess. He also hit him in the face with an elbow to slow him down. Manu didn't complain. He just came back and got a big hoop next time down. Manu had a below average game. Duncan struggled at times, but played great D. Tony Parker carried the Spurs. How the heck is he not an All Star?

That was the problem in this game. We're a team, we don't him trying to selfishly prove a point against Artest. It was as bad a quarter from Manu as I've ever seen.

Ebanks is not and has never been a regular and Luke has been outplaying Artest lately.

Phil was also obviously experimenting/showcasing Blake out there before the trade deadline. Phil's game management will looking nothing like it did tonight when these basketball games actually begin to matter starting late April.

I can't remember what happened with Brian Cook.

Ariza. And Cook was worlds worse than Blake.

I'm not saying it's likely he gets moved or anything, just not impossible with Mitch's history. I doubt Phil is going submarine Fisher like that in the postseason and Barnes coming back removes any chance of Blake seeing the floor during crunch.

Keeping track of when I post, and then logging in and posting when you apparently have limited amount of time before sleep to let me know...

Well no fully functioning adult would do what you are doing :lol

I don't even know who you are :lmao

Typical D-Bags. Won't answer a simple question. He deflects a very straight forward question with snarky comments like a child. Not surprising.

I feel like I am making the most valid points... and they are going unnoticed.

Congratulations on your Regular Season Championship.

If you're bitter, you can leave this board. It's already kind of pathetic that you, a laker fan, post religiously on an opposing team's board.

There was a great shot of the tip-in on ESPN's Sports Center this morining. The view was from above the backboard and the ball was a good 3 inches (completely) outside the rim cylinder before Dice tipped it in.

For those interested, it was during the "Lakers Panic Meter" segment... right before the segment "'Melo to LA?".

Until I saw this thread, I thought we had lost. I could have sworn the Spurs site last night showed the score as us losing by 1.
Hm...yay! This was a nice surprise to wake up to.

You know what, it was a fluke because if the Lakers could actually rebound the ball, maybe Dice wouldn't have gotten the tip in. But seeing as how hypotheticals are just that and what happened happened, we won. Haters gonna hate.

If it makes any Laker fans feel better, they are hosting the all star game.

Why is a long jump shot with .4 seconds a few years ago a matter of skill--but a tip in under the basket by a good veteran big a fluke?

A sign of desperation is to refer to past glory to prop up current failure.
