This might sound ridiculous, but the thing I'm most pleased and encouraged about in these two wins over the Lakers this season is that they didn't beat them by Duncan turning back the clock, or Ginobili playing out of his mind, or them shooting the lights out from three, or catching the Lakers when they were fat, happy and fatigued.

In fact, it's been the opposite of all those things. One of these games, Duncan might not necessarily turn back the clock, but just post his averages, the Spurs might actually shoot the three well, etc . . . and then what?

Artest locked down Manu at times I guess. He also hit him in the face with an elbow to slow him down. Manu didn't complain. He just came back and got a big hoop next time down.
