Somewhat lost in the shuffle of Antonio McDyess’ tip-in and Gary Neal’s mad scramble toss-up (http://www.48minutesofhell.com/san-antonio-spurs-89-los-angeles-lakers-88-diced), was the shift put in by Richard Jefferson against the Lakers on Thursday night.

RJ scored 18 points on 7-12 from the floor and 4-8 from the 3-point line. Over the last five games, Jefferson is putting up 13.8 points per game on 57% from the field and almost 46% from 3-point range, which are all slight bumps above his season averages.

he is and i think he should have more 1-on-1 opportunities in games. give him the ball in the high post and let him shoot that mid-range J, which he is very comfortable shooting, or let him drive and get fouled, which he is even better at. he's far too underutilized. pop talked last year about putting RJ in teh post and letting him go to work, but i have no idea why that didn't materialize.

Dick is a good finisher, but he's not that great at creating his own shot.

I agree that we shouldn't go to RJ.. he is not good at creating his own shot and not even really good at creating for others.. he scored most of his points against the lakers hitting open 3s... I'm good with that.. don't need to force it.. we are winning with balance this year.
