Mavs I am convinced are going to seriously kick their asses in the playoffs in the 2nd round and then TX will have a nice post superbowl showdown. Seeing Kidd knock down that 3 pointer on a broken play to beat the Celtics. shows that like the Spurs the Mavs are just finding ways to win when it counts after surviving their injury woes for a few weeks.

Although it would have been nice for the Spurs to have had the chance to take out the Lakers it looks like the Mavs will roll over that over-hyped team first - living on the fumes and over-hyped memories of a some recent runs through the West - however, these runs occured when neither TX power (SAS or the Mavs) was revived and/or as deep/talented and motivated as they seem to be now

Those who wrote off the Mavs are wrong- they are a damm good team, well coached, have a legit superstar and a savy/older top 5 all time PG, size and depth, and play their best against the top teams. They also are getting a promising player back in Roddy Beaubosis who will just run around Fisher with impunity and between those slow aging trees other out in Hollywood (other than the young man Bynum - who by that time will surely be affected by another little boo boo anyway.)

The only thing that will stop this scenario is if the Lakers continue to drop in the standings WHEN THEY FINALLY HAVE TO PLAY A TOUGH SCHEDULE (relatively = least back to backs in the league and those two pseudo road games vs. the Clips) then some other Western conference team will just have to do the dirty work instead of the Mavs in the 2nd round. That may well be the Spurs that get the honor of sending Kobe crying again - that is if the Lakers do not get beat in the first round = which the way that team is playing these days = may well happen. They really do not want to play either the Hornets or the Thunder in the first round but if they drop just a few more games and one of those teams go on a run - LAL is likely facing that scenario. [Current seeding are below and 1-8 winner will play the winner of the 4-5 in 2nd round while 2-3 should meet.]

No one can seriously count out the Lakers but if Mavs healthy and playing as they are this prediction stands. The LAL have a dismal record against the teams they get up for and although they believe they can turn the switch off and on - LAL is a beatable team by either the Mavs or SAS is either play well. Moreover the worst nightmare for LAL is playing the Thunder again in the first round, especially if the Thunder had home court.

Spurs outplayed the Lakers 95% of the game even playing like dogs themselves and the Lakers would have been the lucky ones to pull this one of their ass. Right not the Lakers are the most over-rated former champs heading into the playoffs fully healthy unless they show something more - they just do not look or act like the same team and unless they make a trade they will not come out of the West or start playing again as a cohesive and motivated unit. All though you can rag on the Mavs they only flat choked the year they won 67 games and lost to the Warriors. They also got flat screwed by the refs in their series vs. Miami in a key game something LAL fan never have to worry about because despite the moaning on lakersground and the like the LAL always seem to get the nebulous calls in the playoffs - hell if it had been the playoffs I am sure the refs would have either flat waived off a legal goal by Dice or put some time on the clock so that Fisher or Bryant could try another shot that is physiologically impossible with the time frame and if they made it - count it anyway and flat screw another team ala the O.4 screw job by the refs with Fisher on the Spurs.

They are right there with LAL and SAS as serious contenders and not sure right now if LAL should even be there. Even with Odom playing at a great level they still suck against great teams and Bynum is not being used right at all. LAL again is on paper the most talented team but the gap is not large as both SAS and Mavs (even with Caron down) still have deeper squads and have superstars and stars on their teams as well.

Going through my worst breakup right now. My ex left me 3.5 months ago.

We started dating October 2009, when I was 31 and she had just turned 30. She told me at the beginning that most of her relationships were short-term, just a few months, because the guys would annoy her and she had only two previous relationships that lasted as long as a year. Her background is that her biological father abandoned her mom when she was pregnant and told her mom to get an abortion. She was raised by her mom and stepdad and she said that they would fight all the time over her. Her stepdad is who she considers her real father, but she even expressed some resentment about him when we were together ("He'll come up to Dallas and Fort Worth to go to the gun show, but he won't come up to take me to dinner.")

Anyways we hit it off, had a great connection and chemistry, similar values, goals in life. We started talking marriage. I have a card from her from last Valentine's Day where she writes "I have always been wondering when God would bring my future husband into my life and now I've found him. I know I will succeed in life with you as my husband by my side." She sat her parents down and told them I was The One and I was different from all the other guys she'd ever dated. She told me throughout the time we were together that it was the best relationship she'd ever been in. She even introduced me to her biological father, something she had never done with any guy she had ever dated before. Her parents wanted to meet mine.

Six weeks before she dumped me she was emailing me suggestions for wedding venues. A month before she dumped me she reminded me that her parents really wanted to meet mine and we needed to arrange a dinner to make that happen. Five days before she dumped me she made a comment in an email about what kind of ring she wanted.

Last fall we were supposed to go to four weddings, all for her friends/family. We had already been to one. The last time I ever hung out with her was Thursday, October 14th at her apartment. When I got there, I told her I had secured a job interview for Sunday, October 17th for a second job to pay for the ring. That night while I was hanging out with her my mom called. My dad had driven home drunk from work and crashed his truck into her car in the driveway, totalling both vehicles. I left my ex there to help my mom take him to a rehab facility.

So the next Saturday, October 16th, we were supposed to go to another wedding for her friend, and I had let my mom borrow my car since my dad had wrecked both of theirs. My ex texts me at nine in the morning asking to come over. The plan was for me to take the TRE train to Arlington so she could pick me up and then we would go to the wedding together.

I thought it was weird that she wanted to come over so early, so I texted her back and said "We have several hours to kill before the wedding, what do you want to do?" And she texts back "I'll be there in 30 and we can talk." So that got my radar up immediately and I called her and she didn't answer. I called again and she didn't pick up. So when she got to my place I pretty much knew what she was about to do.

Remember how I said she had never been with a guy longer than a year? This was exactly two weeks shy of our first anniversary. She says she doesn't feel like she can love me the way I want to be loved and need to be loved. I tell her I don't feel neglected by her. She says when I give her compliments and show her affection, she doesn't feel like that person on the inside. She says she's never been in a relationship longer than a year and she always does this. She says she doesn't want to waste anymore of my time and make me go to weddings I don't want to go to and don't have to go to. I tell her that I never resented having to go to weddings with her, I just loved being with her, and I didn't care what we did. After about 15 minutes she got up and left. I missed a couple red flags before she broke up with me. The last month she was a little distant, so I guess she was detaching. She made a very weird comment a few weeks before breaking up about how she wanted to go to heaven now. I was like "What the hell? Don't you mean you want to go to heaven when you die? What about our future together? You're not looking forward to that?" And she says don't worry, I'm not suicidal, I'd just rather be there now. There were also a few other occasions where she said she wished Jesus would come back already. She also made a comment that was a precursor to when she broke up with me and she said she couldn't love me the exact same way that I loved her and I needed to be okay with that. Since up to this time we had both been very happy with each other, I thought she was talking about different loving styles and was like "Sure, no problem."

I never called, texted, emailed, IM'd, showed up at her apt or job, sought out her friends or family. The only two gestures I made post breakup were to send her flowers and I wrote her a snail letter. The snail letter basically said that I respected her decision, but that I thought what we had together was worth trying to save and that I wanted to try couples counseling. And if she didn't want to do that, then we couldn't be friends or remain in touch.

Her response to that final letter was to maintain 2.5 months of radio silence and then she emailed me during funeral preparations for my grandfather to ask for her bike back. She didn't know about my grandfather when she wrote but it's something she should have taken care of when she broke up with me.

It was sad and weird seeing her again. The whole encounter lasted four minutes. I could tell she was genuinely glad to see me, but it felt like there was this invisible plane between us. I didn't want to inquire about what she was currently up to and risk info I wouldn't want to hear, nor could I bring up the past without pissing her off. I figured that whining and begging to get back together, or being hateful and spiteful (even if she deserves it) gets their conscience off the hook and eases their guilt, so I played it dignified. After I loaded the bike in her vehicle, I said "I just want to say take care of yourself, I wish you well, I will always care about you, and thank you for letting me be a part of your life." And she said "Aww thank you" and then I told her goodbye and walked back to my apt.

I feel a little better these days, not so much sad anymore, but just really angry and frustrated about the whole situation. Angry at her for how she handled things. Frustrated that I can't do anything about it. I barely knew Christine when she turned up at my door at around eight o'clock on the night of Halloween. We'd met for the first and only time three months earlier when my two roommates and I signed the lease on our apartment: Christine's aunt owned the place we were moving into, and she happened to be up from Delaware visiting at the time. But we'd only spent about five minutes together that day and we hadn't spoken much, and I hadn't thought of her since.

I wasn't planning on contacting Christine after our night together. Things hadn't gone so great—especially the part that took place in my bedroom—and I didn't see any reason to try and see her again. But two or three days later, she emailed me to ask me if I wanted to hang out again. I made an excuse. But she didn't take a hint and emailed or called a few more times over the next couple of weeks before I was forced to make it clear to her that I wasn't interested.

Things worked out for the best, though. A few weeks later, Christine started dating my roommate. They went out for over a year, and it was a little awkward the first few times Christine came over to visit him at our apartment and we all had to make conversation in the living room. What I hypothesize is that a fifty percent slow-motion was used in Apollo 11 to simulate lunar gravity. Later, they improved their methods of simulating lunar gravity and started using a combination of slow-motion and support wires. The slow-motion in the later missions might not have been exactly half-speed. It might have been sixty five or seventy percent of natural speed. It looked better but it was inconsistent with Apollo 11 footage. The inconsistency is apparent.

The shadow of the rod is proportionally longer than the shadow of the bag. Evidently, that's how they got those pictures of very dark shadows--they drew them.

He must have forgot that they supposedly sent 27 astronauts 250,000 miles outside Earth orbit 36 years earlier.

I barely knew Christine when she turned up at my door at around eight o'clock on the night of Halloween. We'd met for the first and only time three months earlier when my two roommates and I signed the lease on our apartment: Christine's aunt owned the place we were moving into, and she happened to be up from Delaware visiting at the time. But we'd only spent about five minutes together that day and we hadn't spoken much, and I hadn't thought of her since.

Yet here she was standing outside my door with a friend. And both of them were pretty tipsy.

She asked if she and her friend could come inside our apartment to change into their costumes. She couldn't change at her aunt's place, she said, because she was sleeping and she didn't want to wake her up. Would we mind if she used our bathroom instead?

It was a pretty strange request. Sure, weird stuff happens on Halloween, but I barely knew her, and it isn't every day that someone shows up at your front door and asks to change into their ladybug costume. But I told her it was fine and she was welcome to use our place to get ready.

It didn't take long before the two women—who'd clearly been drinking—were sitting on my couch, beers in hand, trying to convince my roommate and me to join them for a night on the town. Christine was in the holiday spirit dressed in her ladybug outfit. Her friend, who had a female pirate costume on, was much more quiet and reserved. She barely spoke all night.

It was a Wednesday evening, and my roommate and I hadn't been planning to go out. We both had to get up pretty early the next morning for work. But Christine was insistent that we join them, and she wasn't taking no for an answer. "Come on, guys! Let's go! Just throw something on!" she said.

The costume that I wore for the Halloween a year before—a boy scout's uniform that belonged to a friend—was still sitting in my closet. So that made it easy. But my roommate had no idea what to put on.

Christine immediately came up with an idea. She pointed to a cardboard box in the kitchen—the kind that 12-packs of Coca-Cola come in—and told him to cut a hole in the middle and put it on top of his head. We weren't sure what she was suggesting.

"You can go as a cokehead!" she said, bursting into laughter.

With our costume situation sorted out, we headed to South Street, where lots of bars in Philadelphia are located. Half an hour later, the four of us were seated at a table and knocking back beers.

It really didn't take very long for Christine to make her move. She'd grabbed my hand on the way from the apartment to South Street, so I can't say I was totally surprised when she leaned in to kiss me soon after we arrived at the bar.

I could tell when we first met that Christine was older than me. I was 25, and although I never asked her age, I'd have guessed she was in her early 30s. It was only recently that I found out her real age and learned she was in her late 30s when we hooked up. There's a 14-year gap between us, but she looks good for her age. I don't think I'd heard the word "cougar" yet at that point, but that's probably what I'd call her.

Aggressive is another word I'd use to describe her. At the bar, she confessed to me that her aunt really hadn't been sleeping. She hadn't even gone to her apartment to check, she said. She had remembered me from our five-minute meeting the previous summer, and used the story about her aunt as an excuse to knock on my door. She'd set her sights on me from the beginning.

Christine was pretty intense, and she was pretty outspoken that night, but we didn't talk politics much. Her aunt had told me that Christine ran for Senate a year earlier and had lost, so I knew a bit about her background. But the most political she got that night was when she said she attended lots of events in Washington that attracted congressmen and senators. "It would be nice to have a good-looking young man to attend those with me," she added.

We'd probably knocked back five Heinekens when Christine leaned over and whispered in my ear that she wanted to go back to my place. Before we could go, though, she told me to ask her friend if she'd mind if I drove Christine home later that evening. That was odd. I guess Christine didn't want to come across as a slut in her friend's eyes for going home with me, so she wanted me to bring it up her friend first.

I did what I was told and asked her friend if she had any objection to me hanging out with Christine a little longer provided I took her home later on in the evening. She didn't, and a few minutes after that, we were all headed back to my apartment. Christine's friend got in her car and went home. My roommate went to his bedroom and went to sleep. And Christine and I got cozy on the couch and popped open another beer.

Things got physical on the couch pretty quickly. It wasn't long before we'd moved from the living room to my bed.

I won't get into the nitty gritty details of what happened between the sheets that evening. But I will say that it wasn't half as exciting as I'd been hoping it would be. Christine was a decent kisser, but as soon as soon as her clothes came off and she was naked in my bed, Christine informed me that she was a virgin.

"You've got to be kidding," I said. She didn't explain at the time that she was a "born-again virgin." She made it seem like she'd never had sex in her life, which seemed pretty improbable for a woman her age. And she made it clear that she was planning on staying a virgin that night. But there were signs that she wasn't very experienced sexually. When her underwear came off, I immediately noticed that the waxing trend had completely passed her by.

Obviously, that was a big turnoff, and I quickly lost interest. I said goodnight, rolled over, and went to sleep. It was almost four o'clock in the morning. I had to get up at 6:30 to go to work.

Christine wasn't in the best of shape when my alarm clock went off three hours later. I was hungover and exhausted and we'd both had about the same amount to drink, so I'm guessing she was feeling even worse. I got up and started to get dressed and told Christine she'd need to get up, too. But she clearly didn't want to budge, and even after I'd reminded her a few times, she was still under the covers. Did she think I was going to leave for work and let her sleep in my bed?

When she finally did get up and dressed and we got in the car, Christine couldn't remember exactly where her friend lived. We circled around for about 20 minutes before we found it, and I dropped her off in the parking lot next to her car, as she asked me to. We said goodbye and exchanged phone numbers and email addresses. But there wasn't a whole lot of back and forth. I didn't even try to give her a kiss goodbye.

I wasn't planning on contacting Christine after our night together. Things hadn't gone so great—especially the part that took place in my bedroom—and I didn't see any reason to try and see her again. But two or three days later, she emailed me to ask me if I wanted to hang out again. I made an excuse. But she didn't take a hint and emailed or called a few more times over the next couple of weeks before I was forced to make it clear to her that I wasn't interested.

Things worked out for the best, though. A few weeks later, Christine started dating my roommate. They went out for over a year, and it was a little awkward the first few times Christine came over to visit him at our apartment and we all had to make conversation in the living room. But that passed pretty quickly. And in case you're wondering, he never had sex with her either, as far as I know.

When I heard several months ago that Christine had decided to run again, I didn't take it very seriously. And I never expected in a million years that she'd end up winning the primary. But she did, and the morning after the election, I sat in disbelief as I watched the news on TV. For a second, I thought I might be hearing things and I went over to my computer and pulled up CNN.com to check if it was true. It was.

God, I hope the same thing doesn't happen next week.

What I hypothesize is that a fifty percent slow-motion was used in Apollo 11 to simulate lunar gravity. Later, they improved their methods of simulating lunar gravity and started using a combination of slow-motion and support wires. The slow-motion in the later missions might not have been exactly half-speed. It might have been sixty five or seventy percent of natural speed. It looked better but it was inconsistent with Apollo 11 footage. The inconsistency is apparent.

This makes it very clear that they used a simple fifty percent slow-motion to simulate lunar gravity in Apollo 11 and a faster slow-motion (around 67 percent according to Jarrah White's calculations) combined with wire supports in the later missions.

What I hypothesize is that a fifty percent slow-motion was used in Apollo 11 to simulate lunar gravity. Later, they improved their methods of simulating lunar gravity and started using a combination of slow-motion and support wires. The slow-motion in the later missions might not have been exactly half-speed. It might have been sixty five or seventy percent of natural speed. It looked better but it was inconsistent with Apollo 11 footage. The inconsistency is apparent.

What I hypothesize is that a fifty percent slow-motion was used in Apollo 11 to simulate lunar gravity. Later, they improved their methods of simulating lunar gravity and started using a combination of slow-motion and support wires. The slow-motion in the later missions might not have been exactly half-speed. It might have been sixty five or seventy percent of natural speed. It looked better but it was inconsistent with Apollo 11 footage. The inconsistency is apparent.

What I hypothesize is that a fifty percent slow-motion was used in Apollo 11 to simulate lunar gravity. Later, they improved their methods of simulating lunar gravity and started using a combination of slow-motion and support wires. The slow-motion in the later missions might not have been exactly half-speed. It might have been sixty five or seventy percent of natural speed. It looked better but it was inconsistent with Apollo 11 footage. The inconsistency is apparent.

What I hypothesize is that a fifty percent slow-motion was used in Apollo 11 to simulate lunar gravity. Later, they improved their methods of simulating lunar gravity and started using a combination of slow-motion and support wires. The slow-motion in the later missions might not have been exactly half-speed. It might have been sixty five or seventy percent of natural speed. It looked better but it was inconsistent with Apollo 11 footage. The inconsistency is apparent.

What I hypothesize is that a fifty percent slow-motion was used in Apollo 11 to simulate lunar gravity. Later, they improved their methods of simulating lunar gravity and started using a combination of slow-motion and support wires. The slow-motion in the later missions might not have been exactly half-speed. It might have been sixty five or seventy percent of natural speed. It looked better but it was inconsistent with Apollo 11 footage. The inconsistency is apparent.

The only thing that will stop this scenario is if the Lakers continue to drop in the standings WHEN THEY FINALLY HAVE TO PLAY A TOUGH SCHEDULE (relatively = least back to backs in the league and those two pseudo road games vs. the Clips) then some other Western conference team will just have to do the dirty work instead of the Mavs in the 2nd round. That may well be the Spurs that get the honor of sending Kobe crying again - that is if the Lakers do not get beat in the first round = which the way that team is playing these days = may well happen. They really do not want to play either the Hornets or the Thunder in the first round but if they drop just a few more games and one of those teams go on a run - LAL is likely facing that scenario. [Current seeding are below and 1-8 winner will play the winner of the 4-5 in 2nd round while 2-3 should meet.]

Mavs I am convinced are going to seriously kick their asses in the playoffs in the 2nd round and then TX will have a nice post superbowl showdown. Seeing Kidd knock down that 3 pointer on a broken play to beat the Celtics. shows that like the Spurs the Mavs are just finding ways to win when it counts after surviving their injury woes for a few weeks.

Although it would have been nice for the Spurs to have had the chance to take out the Lakers it looks like the Mavs will roll over that over-hyped team first - living on the fumes and over-hyped memories of a some recent runs through the West - however, these runs occured when neither TX power (SAS or the Mavs) was revived and/or as deep/talented and motivated as they seem to be now

Those who wrote off the Mavs are wrong- they are a damm good team, well coached, have a legit superstar and a savy/older top 5 all time PG, size and depth, and play their best against the top teams. They also are getting a promising player back in Roddy Beaubosis who will just run around Fisher with impunity and between those slow aging trees other out in Hollywood (other than the young man Bynum - who by that time will surely be affected by another little boo boo anyway.)
