Over the last 5 games:

25.2 PPG, 62% FG, 70% 3P, 97% FT ...

the injury didn't slow him down..player of the week for sure!

His rebounding numbers are not. Turnovers are up, too.

Nowitzki may be the most valuable player for the Mavs, but he will never again win the NBA MVP Award. That door is closed. Everybody knows it.

Tbh the winners of the MVP the last two years led the league in +/- while they were on the court. This year Dirk leads the league in that category with something like a +22 with LeBron at 2nd by a longshot.

If history repeats itself then dirk should be in serious consideration I
IMHO. This mavs team plays like shit when he is not in the game( lol 2-9 record with dirk out of the lineup)

Another crazy stat is that the mavs are like 33-6 with dirk and Tyson in the lineup :lobt2:

tbh I wonder how much consideration Tyson will be given for 2nd all defensive team. No one's gonna make 1st over Howard off name alone, but Tyson should clearly be on the 2nd team.

the 2 wins came against the cavaliers and a banged up trail blazers team...

with dirk in the lineup we beat the lakers at home and boston on the road..

this team is so much better with dirk it's not even funny.

From the great people at DB.COM:

"Dirk leads the league and +/- points differential. Saw this stat on ESPN when they were doing the Mavs/Celtics game and asking whether Dirk should be an MVP. The last 3 years the MVP led the league in this category.

I'd say Dirk is definitely in contention.
