Spurs are going to drop some games in April. I doubt the starters play many minutes during the last 3 games of the season.

Throw in some back to backs and some games against teams that the Spurs will probably lack focus on, and I've got them at about 65 wins.

65-68 wins, this team is deep.

Excellent analysis. We get the home court clinched ASAP, then the 2nd five gets valuable PT while the starters rest and are healthy for the playoffs. I have to think it would be a pretty big upset if the Spurs don't win it this year.

One game you won't be winning is the last game of the season.

Fair point as in the regular season after killing the LAL in the next to last game of the season despite playing scrubs 1/2 the game the Spurs will tank the last game.

LAL better start planning then that fishing trip after Mavs take them out in 2nd round

I think 62-20 mainly because that record will probably lead the NBA by 2 games. Letting Pop skip the last game.

For that to happen we will have to beat at least one time this teams Celtics, Miami, Dallas.

If we do that i am quite sure 62-20 makes the NBA best.
We will have to go 16-10 wich is highly probable, even when looking at the schedule.

As of now, in order to tie that record top teams would have to go.

East
Celtics 22-4
Miami 21-5
Chicago 24-4

West
Dallas 22-4
LA 24-1
OKC 27-1

My 2 cents

Don't act like you saw something like this. Because you didn't. Nobody did. The Spurs record shouldn't be as good as it is, but obviously everyone is thrilled with what they have done.

No one gives a shit about the regular season anyways, all anyone ever argued was does this team have enough to win a title. We still don't know.

Also, remember when every RJ lover tooted their horn because of his only good month of basketball in the very beginning of the season. That was awesome too...

:lol Everyone here is so f*cking stupid to think that a team that had been declining in wins for 4 straight years that didn't add any significant pieces and got a year older, who only won 50 last year, would struggle to win 50 games.

Congrats on your prediction, but acting like you saw them as the number seed or with a record this good makes you a liar.

RJ is not better. He started off great (first month) and has been just as shitty as last year since. His amount of good games this year is about equal to last year, the only difference is his good games this year all came in one spurt instead of sporadically spaced out.

RJ has less PPG/REB/BLK/STL/AST in the same amount of minutes. Cue the "but, but, but he is in the right spots now!" argument. Well, if he was in the right spots and doing the right things, the numbers would improve. Sure he is shooting better, but that doesn't translate into anything on the court for him production wise.

Stop reaching levels of EricB random self fellatio, especially when you didn't do shit.

Stop being so terribly not funny and making no basketball points that are decent only to scoreboard your way to no one noticing you on here.

He is shooting less attempts at a higher %. His 4th quarter stats are fantastic. His 3pt % is 12% better than last season. Is it everything? No.

Uh . . . no.

I don't get where all this pent up aggression is coming from, but . . .

Here is my original comment on this thread which you interpreted as self-fellating, scoreboarding personal attack.

Remember this summer when everyone was saying the Spurs would struggle to win 50 games? Remember that? That was awesome . . .

Really?

You just tried to scoff it and then when I post proof (which you never do to back up anything you say) of you trying to act like a bad ass, you back pedal faster than Kool :lol
Why would I be mad at everyone? I am not mad at you. I simply showed you that you are trying to scoff me and make fun of me for something you participated in you clown. :lol

Fuck that . . . I don't back pedal. Posting stats is fine, but I put more stock in real results that are visible on the court, over the course of a game/season because stats do not paint a complete picture. Stats are a crutch that are used as an absolute by too many people around here.

And before you scoff me for saying stats are insignificant, or some bullshit like that . . . I use stats all the time to back up my opinion. Your accusation is ludicrous.

Am I not allowed to participate in your threads? I was just taking the opportunity to get in some licks just like every other mother fucker.
It's not like I never gave Kool or Cully shit before you swooped in and saved us all from their tyranny, fool.

You are the self-felating douche, as I have pointed out with proof.

No. You didn't. You posted my quotes from that thread which prove absolutely nothing other than I was having a little fun at Kool's expense which I could have done with or without you, superstar.

No. He isn't. You are talking out of your ass. Like usual. Only difference is, you don't see the people arguing against RJ scoreboarding like you do even though we could.

This sentence is a fucking mess btw, but what I think you are saying is, essentially, that I do not have the ability to see other points of view other than my own? Really? This . . . coming from you? Are you that lacking in self-awareness?
I can see when RJ is fucking up and when he isn't playing up to his potential. I just take the other side of the coin on ST because the anti-RJ contingent is pretty much covered already.
Those stats you posted do not really clearly prove anything really that couldn't also be explained by the whole team's defense being inconsistent this year and a team focus on offense. Matt Bonner's stats paint a very different picture than what most people can see with their eyes.

Yeah guy. I already said he is shooting better. That is it though. He literally does everything else worse and his defense has declined even more. For all of that good shooting, his impact on winning on both ends has declined from last year.

Yet you cling to the improvement in shooting like it is confirmation of all the other bull shit you post.

I'm not clinging to anything. One of the biggest issues with RJ's game last season was his 3pt shooting % and his aggressiveness, both of which have improved this season. What is everything else? He is playing within the system, rotates better and is slumping no more or less than anyone else on the team.

"bullshit you post"

Put me on ignore if I bother you that much, you fucking baby.

I post proof & links. You do not. That means I win the argument.

Uh . . . no.

Here is my original comment on this thread which you interpreted as self-fellating, scoreboarding personal attack.

Really?

Link to me saying it's a personal attack? Or did I say that you are a self-felating scoreboarding douche because of the comment. I never said it was a personal attack, I said I caught you scroeboarding like I have before and it's annoying. I give EricB shit (as does everyone else) for doing the same thing.

:lol Pent up aggression. Like responding to me and saying stuff like "go back to failing.....". Why are you raging brah?

Fuck that . .

I already scoffed you for having no legs to stand on and this confirms it. I told you this when I framed my logical argument with statistical evidence (I too have the visual evidence you love) and said you couldn't do the same. I was right. Know why? Because I knew what you were saying was bull shit.

You do back pedal and I posted everything to prove it. Stats aren't a crutch. Saying "but, but, but I totally see the improvement with my own eyes!" is the crutch.

Am I not allowed to participate in your threads? I was just taking the opportunity to get in some licks just like every other mother fucker.
It's not like I never gave Kool or Cully shit before you swooped in and saved us all from their tyranny, fool.

Sure you are allowed to participate. You are also allowed to scoff me later on for something, but won't I won't allow is for you to scoff me and act like you weren't heavily involved in something you claim I was "failing" at.

No. You didn't. You posted my quotes from that thread which prove absolutely nothing other than I was having a little fun at Kool's expense which I could have done with or without you, superstar.

Nice strawman. I never said you didn't make fun of Kool before me. What I did say is you tried to act like I was "failing" and doing something stupid when you are heavily involved in the situation. It proves that you look not only like a self-felating scoreboarding douche right now, but also a butthurt dishonest person because you were eating up what you are scoffing now because you jelly.

My sentence is a mess. You're entire logic and stance is a disaster in here. Who said you can't see another point of view? What that sentence implied was that you are a self-felating scoreboarding douche and the people who hated on RJ pre-season have been proven correct so far and could also be self-felating scoreboarding douches, but we aren't.

RJ's stats are what they are. They are worse than last years overall. His impact is worse overall. The stats and my eyes tell us that and there is no argument against it, or at least you have failed to present one that makes sense.

You are clinging to it because it's the only stat you posted :lmao. It is the only positive thing statistically he's done over last year. His aggressiveness has increased? That is why he has less FTA per game :lol

:lol at the ignore list comment. I am arguing with logic and facts and you are getting Gregulated. You are the one looking like a baby because you got bloaded by someone.

It happens to everyone. But not all of us lose it like you. Just Neal with it and move on....

If you aren't taking it personally, then why respond to me in this manner based on my original comment on this thread. I wasn't scoreboarding or self-fellating (spelled with 2 Ls btw). You read something into it that wasn't there because you wanted to have it out with me again for whatever reason. I don't get it tbh.
I only said the "go back to your failing . . ." line AFTER you responded to me first . . . negatively and with no pertinent reason.

Bullshit. I can access BasketballReference.com too. We both have access to the same stats. What's left?

Your beloved defensive rating has RJ up 2 points from last year and down 1 point from last year in defensive win shares . . . pretty meaningless considering the focus on offense this season and those stats are just as reflective of team defense as individual.

Who is a better defender RJ or Manu? RJ or Bonner? What do advanced stats show? Can you draw different conclusions with the eye test?

Sure you are allowed to participate. You are also allowed to scoff me later on for something, but won't I won't allow is for you to scoff me and act like you weren't heavily involved in something you claim I was "failing" at.

:lol "heavily involved"

I made 6 comments on an 18 page thread, you jackass. None of which had anything to do with you or your subsequent whining and obsessing over the issue for days and days and days.

Jelly? Please . . . even koriwhat is dogging you on your :cry my request :crythread. How am I butthurt or dishonest? I gave Kool some shit on your thread, but other than that it really had nothing to do with you. It could have been anyone tbh.

Come on, man. Most everybody trolls from time to time. Even you. I don't run around calling people dishonest and butthurt when it's obvious they are just having a laugh.

You've been scoreboarding (gregulating) all over the place lately and . . . guess what? Kool is still here. Cully is still here. You didn't do shit but whine about losing a bet to a dude that you should have known was never going to pay up. Whether I had fun with that or not, is beside the point.

What stance? I made an innocuous comment expressing that no one expected the Spurs to have a record like this . . . including myself, and you took some kind of offense to it and assumed I was "scoreboarding". For the record, any scoreboarding I have done has always been done with a sense of humility and self-deprecation. I don't take myself that seriously tbh.

You are every bit as self-congratulatory and conceited as anyone on this board. Where the fuck do you get off?

You should get Aunt Kori to ban me, marshall.

I'm fine, really. Thanks for your concern. Manu is an atheist.

:lol Gregulated

RJ is taking 1.6 less shots per game. He isn't hesitating when his man closes him out on the perimeter. He is driving and trying to get easy baskets or kicking it back out which results in more ball movement and open looks. The opposing team's defense can key in on that because, in the Spurs offense, he is limited to shooting a 3 or driving to the basket. Where he has improved in this area is that he is driving a lot more before kicking it out which draws in the defense, giving the perimeter shooters open looks. Last season, he gave the ball up on the perimeter and didn't look to drive.

I don't get why everything has to be about RJ when I didn't bring him up. It's becoming a fallback argument for you because you think you can get over on me with this tact. If we disagree, so be it. I've said it before.

My guess (and I admit this is just a guess) is that RJ is about what he was last year, but expectations (which were too high last year) have leveled off so people are not making as big a deal about it. Also, winning kills a lot of complaints. Last year we weren't winning as much so RJ was a scapegoat (somewhat) justifiably. This year no scapegoat is needed.

The fact that our Big 3 has been healthy and that Neal has been a bonus off the bench and that Pop has stopped musical chair rotations has all lead to a much bigger improvement.

That we would improve this much with our two "prized" rookies of Splitter and Anderson giving us little, is a surprise. As is the health.

Back to the discussion I'll say 63 and 19. But if you'd asked me at the beginning of the season I'd have said about 52 wins. No one saw this coming which is why a lot of the league acts as if this is a mirage.

We'll prove them wrong.
