AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Detroit Pistons (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=det) plan to retire Dennis Rodman's No. 10 during a halftime ceremony later this season.
Rodman, the eccentric rebounding specialist who helped the Pistons win NBA titles in 1989 and 1990, will be honored April 1 when the Pistons host the Chicago Bulls (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=chi), a team Rodman won three championships with from 1996 to 1998.
Detroit rookie Greg Monroe (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=4260) currently wears No. 10 and will be allowed to keep doing so.
Rodman averaged 8.8 points and 11.5 rebounds in 549 games with the Pistons. He was the league's defensive player of the year in 1990 and 1991.
