View Full Version : D-Whistle v. the Celtic Defense

In the first game, I gave him a pass because he was just getting back onto the court after a lengthy absence:
Game 1 - 4/16 (25%) - 13 points - 6 TOs
Again, that was the first game for him and his new teammates. But what was his PER-fect excuse in the second game? He stunk it up again:
Game 2 - 2/12 (16%) - 8 points - 6 TOs
After that doozy, I thought to myself, surely he couldn't have yet a 3rd game of shooting shittily against the Celtics. Could he? Let's see:
Game 3 - 6/17 (35%) - 16 points - 6 TOs
I don't get it. Kobe gets lambasted in these parts for having a shitty shooting game in game 7 - irregardless of the fact that he had two busted fingers on his shooting hand - yet D-Whistle gets a pass. In 3 games, he is shooting 12/45 (25.4%) and a whopping 12.3 ppg and a jaw dropping 6 TOs/game.
He's nothing but an NBA manufactured "superstar," tbh.
Ace, get your ass in here and spin this shit - if you dare. :downspin:

I didn't see all these game. But maybe, when Wade was a one man team the Celtics let him do his things and shut up any other Heat player.

Much easier to score when the ball is in your hands ...Lebron is dominating the ball because he is playing point forward ...
Without it wade can not get in a rhythm against the Celts ... they are applying pressure to Wade and Laebron and giving Bosh, Miller etc the open shots ...
Celtics are just the one team who can expose the lack of offensive execution, Heat played sloppy and Boston capitalized. People are reading to much into the regular season because they so badly want to see the Heat fail. :hat

Of the 3 Kobe got the title.:lobt:
Don't forget that Kobe has way better teammates. LBJ would win too if he had Kobe's teammates.

I'm not so sure about that. Kobe this year against the same team DWhistle can't beat: 25/46 (54%) - 32 ppg. Season split.
He had his way with Boston this year. The difference is his teammates didn't have 2 good games with him.

Kobe's 2nd fiddle is Pau. Is Pau better than LBJ?
Kobe's 3rd fiddle is LO. Well, he is better than Bosh, but still. :lol

That's what we keep hearing. They gave him Shaq, Mo, Moon, Parker, Jamison, Powe, Delonte. What more does he need. Kobe has won B2B with no bench, no PG, and soft big men.:lobt::lobt:

This dude speaks the truth. This is a case of the 2006 Suns letting Kobe go ballistic in the playoffs knowing full well that his efforts would be futile because the rest of his team sucked. No different than the 2010 Heat, tbh.

The Suns didn't really let Kobe go ballistic in 2006. The Lakers were winning with a team effort and Odom was negating Shawn Marion with his play. It wasn't until Game 6 that Kobe really went ballistic (it helped Raja Bell was suspended as well) and he got great help from his teammates but LA still found a way to lose that game (and ultimately the series).
And I think the difference between 2010 Wade and 2011 Wade is expectations. In 2010 Wade had no pressure because no one in their right mind expected the Heat to go anywhere...least of all beat the Celtics. He could just come out and let it fly because he had nothing to lose. This year there's a lot of pressure. The Heat are expected to contend for a championship. They were supposed to dominate this league. There are egos and legacies on the line now and with that comes pressure to perform.

Actually the Celtics double and triple teamed Wade last year and he still lit them up. I don't know where this B.S. about letting him get his came from:

From your link:
His Game 4 against the Celtics (46 points, just eight missed shots) was one of the highest degree-of-difficulty performances I can ever remember watching. It had already been established that (A) his team sucked, (B) the Celtics were going to swarm him at the 3-point line any time he thought about driving, (C) they were going to double him coming off any screen, and (D) any time he drove into the paint, the entire Boston team was going to collapse on him. Didn't matter. After he caught fire in the fourth, the Celtics double-teamed him 35 feet from the basket. He still got his points. This wasn't a great game as much as a great performance -- to paraphrase the great Bill Walton, Wade controlled the flow of the game and did it with real meaning.
Like I said, in Game 4 Wade couldn't be guarded. He just couldn't.
