How long would you make the regular season?

50 was my thought too.

Of course, that would completely screw up statistics.

Yay extrapolation! :lol

Besides, stats are already kind of screwed up considering Wilt averaged 50 and 25 for an entire season.

It's precisely why a team can play up to 28 games in the playoffs that the regular season could be shortened.

True

But with single playoff games instead multiple game series, teams would fight more for HCA during the regular season, which would make it more interesting

Too bad the NBA would collapse due to insufficient funding if they went that route.

Contract 2 teams to give you 28.

Split into 4 divisions, 7 teams each.

Play everyone in your division 4x, everyone else 2x.

Makes a 66 game schedule. Eliminate all back to backs. Fans pay alot of money to see tired ass teams get their shit kicked in playing 3 games in 4 nights. Games would be more competitive, there would be less injuries, and regular season games might actually mean something.

Biggest obstacle is the owners, they don't want to give up 8 home dates and the revenue that goes with it.

82 is just too long IMO
