Can't beat that deal. I have been waiting for a sale on it, so I immediately pulled the trigger as soon as I saw it. Great deal for a game with so much long-term potential.

I admit that Civ 4 with expansions is probably a better game as things stand, but Civ 5 is going to get so much better in the future. I love the new additions, and going on DR's recommendation, I'm making the switch.

u lose religions/corporations/espionage/stacks.
Happiness system being global sucks majorly. No more CE/GP tactics and other finesse thangs. One unit per tile simply sucks majorly since it makes turtling too easy. Add to that that da ai is shite and its unplayable 4 a pro.
I can go on and on. If u want a fast game civ5 da way to go, but if u look at all da real playas back from 1990 u know they still is on da 4.
I'd definitely agree 4 >>> 5, even though I've barely played 5. 4 is the ultimate civ, it really just doesn't get better

4 is great, no question, but the potential of 5 is through the roof. It took years for Firaxis to hone 4 into what it is today, and I expect no less from them in regards to the continuing development of 5.
I really like the 1upt system, as well as city states, but they need to incorporate religion, vassals, and random events into 5. That's just for starters. Eventually they will, or the modders will. Then it will surpass 4, IMO

Diplomacy needs improvement in 5 as well
@CH You can get 4 pretty cheap these days. No reason not to have both

it would be smart to make it at least 3/4 units per hex.
There were some great discussion that historically and tactically 4 units per hex would be an excellent number. One is simply too small (medieval formations had pikes in fron of archers in front of sieges) for obvious resons.... they'll get to quality in time (thanks to the modders) but civ 5 WAS a downgrade.
