There is no any outstanding mvp contender in the year compared to past few years, so in this case, if Manu averages 21pts and 5asts with the spurs having the best record in the regular season, would Manu have an opportunity to make it?

Nope. Not going to happen. It's Lebron James'. Done deal already. The stats are too hard to ignore as is the strong Heat record.

Manu is our MVP and the wildcard that makes us a contender. He can carry us over the top to a title.

At last I saw, He was at 17.9 pts a game and playing badly. For him to go up 3 points would mean he would have to avg 24 or more points a game the rest of the season. Thats an increase of 6 points a game. Not gonna happen, but in a fantasy world, Manu turning it on to avg 24+ pts a game the rest of the season would definitly put him in MVP race.(numbers used for half a season)

Note: 46-10=56 games out of 82. Only 26 more game to go and only 31% of season left. More like needing 26 pts a game rest of the way to be even close to what you asking.
