Can someone translate that?

Had Vince actually punched KG in the mouth, it would have been the end all to dunks forever. As it stands it's just currently the greatest of all time.

I've got to go with Shawn Kemp for at least honorable mention. Height, flair, and power were incredible.

When people name someone other than Vince, it's always a rebellion against the foundation. Vince is the best dunker of all time, period.

Wow. Tha guy in both those D. Rose vids needs to work on some new catchphrases. I'd prefer "boom-shakalaka!" to his "I wanna go higher" and "poster machine" bits.

Fucking obnoxious as hell...

Wow. I get the homerism. I get standing behind your guy (I'm an Elliott fan, after all). But that was grating. I'd kill myself if I had to listen to that every game...(or mute the tv, whichever).

Homer alert: I know he's nowhere near the best dunker, but slightly OT, I always liked Dee Brown's "no-look" dunk.

Definitely Vince. One of the things that always got me hyped with Vince was when he did 360 dunks on a break because instead of a normal 360, he would spin the opposite direction of most people. He also had that one nasty inbounds dunk at North Carolina. He had a bunch in college too.

After the obvious best VC dunk in the Olympics, this one's my favorite. It's just a normal tomahawk dunk, but the crossover and the ferocity of it...goddamn. *vroom-vroom*

Too bad the alcohol messed him up. He was always good for some highlight dunks.

Kori should give you a spur for coming up with that.

Vince Carter, and Shawn Kemp.... most who say Blake Griffin are just too young to know any better... -replayed highlights will never do Carter and Kemp any justice and there were hundreds of sick dunks that are not available on youtube.

Even Antonio McDyess was pretty sick when he played for Phoenix believe it or not he had MAD hops before his injury..

LILCOOK
02-20-2011, 08:43 PM
MCDYESS played for denver and yes he use to dominate the nba before his knee injury.
clyde quit dunking when he got older but look at him during his trailbalzers years and he was like jordan with his dunks.

surprised no one mentioned jason richardson for current dunker.

G-Dawgg

Yes, McDyess played for Denver but also played for Phoenix... Drexler never posterized people the same way as Vince, and Kemp used to.

Shaq was pretty nasty for posterizing centers his first few years too. The Admiral was on the receiving end one year during the All-Star game in San Antonio

LILCOOK

if you think clyde never posterized anyone you never watched him in the finals against the bulls.

clyde posterized everyone.

Clyde was one of my favorite players back in the day. Everyone was a Jordan nut hugger, but Drexler was the player I liked.

I agree, but I can't fathom how Dominique Wilkins isn't getting props in here.

I agree. And I think Vince is getting a little too much love. I don't see how people can say he is just head and shoulders a better in-game dunker than guys like Bron, Kemp, MJ, Amare, and others.

Although if Griffin keeps it up, he will quickly find his way into the convo.

Griffin is a monster. The only thing that concerns me about him is how hard he goes at it. He needs to develop a more well rounded/finesse game and watch the injuries, but he reminds me of Kemp in a lot of ways. I was a huge Sonics fan in the 90s.

Yeah, he is going to cool down on his aggressive style sooner or later, but I think he most definitely already has been developing a bit of a finesse game too. He has a decent mid-range shot, and has actually a very nice post game. If he stays healthy and keeps working hard, its scary to think how good he will be in 4-5 years... :wow

Yeah, MJ was the first guy to really make dunks look graceful and smooth.

Carter, Kemp, Nique.

Jordan was great when he was younger, so was Clyde, Dr. J. had his moments in the 70s, but they didn't slam it down on people like the ones above.

Kobe had his fair share of incredible dunks as well, along with TMac and KJ.

Kenny "Sky" Walker was pretty impressive as well, if I remember correctly.
