Kobe + Pau + D12 could very well happen. That would suck...for non-Laker fans. :lol

:lol Right. In Lakerfan eyes, the 2012 team will feature a starting line up of Kobe, Pau, DHo, CP3 and random SF.

LOL, but when Boston or Miami sends D12 home in the playoffs this time, he will walk in 2012 - guaranteed. Rather than lose him for nothing, the Lakers offer a package featuring Bynum to the Magic.
And as I stated in my thread about the TWC/Laker deal, Dr. Buss has an additional $150M in revenue to play with. So he definitely would be able to afford to pay Kobe $25M, Pau $18M and D12 $20M.
It's no coincidence that Bynum's deal is a team option in 2012, and D12's is a player option in the same year. We want him in LA and he will want to be there as well if they don't win it all this year (they won't).
He even said that if there is any player in the league he would want to play with it would be the Black Mamba (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kji9Vpu2RA).

This is pretty much why the owners are pushing for a hard cap. For every deep-pocketed owner willing to spend anything for a title (Buss, Cuban), there are 7 or 8 who will do anything to stay below the tax line, and want the cost certainty of a hard cap. With the new CBA, Dwight might be looking at a large pay cut to go to the Lakers (trading may be restricted or even disallowed for teams with over-the-cap salaries grandfathered in, to encourage teams to quickly get under the cap).

Orlando Magic center leaving to play for the Lakers. That sounds familiar. This guy would look like an absolute twit. Everyone wants to hitch a ride these days.

By 2012, Kobe's going to be the Black Garter Snake.

Yeah, in the post hard cap world of 2012, I really don't see him opting out of $19M. There won't be anything like that on the open market, Lakers or other wise.

Won't matter if Dwight goes to LA.
By 2012 summer, that means 2 extra summers for the Miami Heat to fill out the roster with MLE's and LLE's or whatever.
once the Heat get a good Center, and fill the bench better, there is nothing LA can do. You won't beat a Wade-LeBron-Bosh trio with a GOOD center down low and an improved bench.
Dwight's an asshole. I don't like him.
They should combine the entire NBA and have one team. No one in the NBA would beat them.

If the Heat were able to trade Bosh for a real big man, it wouldn't matter where Dwight went.
And I agree that by 2012, Bryant will be irrelevant. If the Lakers were smart, they'd trade Bryant right now while people still think he can play. Bu the reality is that the guy is getting more inefficient by the hour.

Have LA fans already given up this year that they're looking to 2012?

Replace Paul with D-Will and random SF with Carmelo.

Christ. I lived through the hell of Shaq bolting Orlando in 1996. That would simply send Magic fans into a complete tailspin.
