Lot of respect for the coach who basically stole the job from his previous coach as GM, tanked on purpose to get Duncan, decided to protest FIsh's 0.4 shot as impossible (denied), sent in film to the NBA to get Kobe suspended for an "unnatural basketball act" and then stated that there should be a trade committee to veto the Gasol trade.

He can go screw himself. Watching Phil beat him repeatedly when it counts is very satisfying.

Seeing Pop coach the Lakers would make me stop watching basketball altogether.

So, what other team other than the Spurs (and the Lakers) would you like Pop to coach?

" I can't imagine Pop coaching another team " :rolleyes

Pop going to LA would be a swerve of Hollywood Hogan proportions.

Pop will never leave the Spurs and will probably retire from the NBA the same day as Timmy.

Pop to the lakers huh? It can happen. If there's two things in this world Pop loves, it's media attention and big ego superstars. :rolleyes

Actually it would be kind of funny watching ESPN try to suck up to a major market fanbase with a coach that gives them nothing to work with. They'd try to rebrand Pop from "boring jerk" to "super focused rebel".

Still makes me laugh every time I hear a fan alluding to Pop's "trade committee" in regards to the Gasol trade.

Goodness gracious sakes alive ... somebody look up facetious.

He would be about as successful (and popular) in LA as Rudy T was.

Pop is way too set in his ways, and way too smart, for that move.

So true. Pop would hate all the Laker hype and his players would hate him for that very fact.

He's not retiring the same day as Tim, nor the same week or month or year.

But I agree, the Spurs will be his only team as coach.

And I'd like Andre Drummond to be Tim's successor, but fat chance.

Why would Pop give up the almost absolute power and authority he has in SA for the circus and egos in LA? The man has job security like no other coach.

Dude…Get Real…Pop is fine for your town…Taking rides on the River Walk….Dining at What A Burger…Making a guest appearance during rodeo week...But the Mighty Lakers reside in the land of Stars…Jerry, Shaq, Kobe, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Riles, PJ, Dianne, Jack, Steven, to name a few…

Don’t think Coach Pop would ever be asked to place his hands & feet in the Hollywood Walk of Fame…:smokin

he would only be considered if the Lakers want to keep winning.

I'm sure they could pry lure Minnesota's coach away and launch the Second Rambis Dynasty.

It wouldn’t work…Coaches like Bobby Knight or Pop do well in arenas where they can scream, throw chairs & hurl insults…But that doesn’t work when dealing with true stars who play in major cities…:wakeup

Doesn't he have to trade Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio to the Lakers first?

the Laker players all have way too big of vaginas to be coached by Pop...he'd give them a butthurting and it would last all season long. Hell, those fags can't even get over team chemistry this entire season. Kobe hates being coached by any coach as it is, he would absolutely hate Pop.

They might like the idea based off of wins, but they'd quickly come to hate Pop for turning Hollywood's Team into blandness.

Yes we would. The Lakeshow is about winning. We demand the best and in my opinion Pop is right behind Phil in greatness. Pop is very underated by the national sports media. Even in SA he was crucified last year. What he is doing this year is truely remarkable. The Spurs had no shot when the season began according to the "experts". However, I do believe he should stay put. I just hate to see him and Duncan seperated in any way. They both build a great thing in SA and should retire there. Heck, the only thing I hate about SA is they do not give us real Laker fans a reason to hate them. They are quiet (do not run their mouth off) and continue on their business. Its easy for us Laker fans to hate Boston and recently the Heat but I really have a hard time hating the Spurs. They really are a class act. In the end I do believe will win that series and go on to the finals but that is my biased opinion. Our only obstacle is the Spurs. Actually, the Lakers and Spurs have prevented each other from winning at least two more championships that could have gone either way. The one thing that I know both fan bases would agree is we are truely witnessing the best power foward that has ever played the game (Tim Duncan). To contradict this fact, makes you------how can I put it------------------an idiot.
