Bethesda is turning the lights down low and playing some Barry White in hopes that Elder Scrolls fans will get to making little Elder Scrolls fans. The developer has announced a tongue-in-cheek promotion, promising loot to any couple that gives birth to a child on Skyrim's launch day of 11/11/11 and names their newborn Dovahkiin.

Posting on the official Bethesda blog, the devs revealed that now is the perfect time to conceive if you'd like to have a baby on November 11. They ran with the idea, promising undisclosed loot to any fans that manage to pull it off and give the child the aforementioned unique name, which is from the franchise's Dragon Language and translates into "Dragonborn."
"If anyone is seriously considering this, we've got a few ideas in mind for a collection of quest rewards. How's this for a shower gift: a Steam key that will grant you, and presumably Dovahkiin him/herself, every ZeniMax/Bethesda game — past, present and future — for life. Once your child eventually achieves cognition — and grows old enough to play intense video games — we think it will agree that this key blows away a pink pleated onesie. As for the rest of the loot, we'll leave it as a surprise."

Bethesda posted a disclaimer with the post, noting that it is not responsible for your parenting and completion of the quest may actually result in a decreased desire to play video games.

Hopefully no one takes this seriously, but sadly, you know someone out there will do it.

LOL, I doubt anyone will actually plan it (planning a pregnancy to the day is impossible anyway...). But Bethesda HAS to realize there WILL be plenty of kids born on that day.. Dovahkiin isn't that terrible of name, past learning to spell it. I mean, "dragonborn" isn't terrible.
