Well I have told my girl not to download or click shit from people on Facebook and she did anyways. She downloaded some extension on Firefox offered by some link on Facebook for profile themes and shit. So as soon as she installed and selected a theme she got ads all over her FB page and Firefox turns to a red screen and says there are security threats.

It found trojans and all kinds of trackers and shit.

I ran Malwarebytes and it found some stuff and I got rid of it. I got rid of her extension on FF but it's still doing the same thing.

On her FB there are still ads on it that are not on my own FB when I am on the laptop. She did all of this on the desktop.

So how do I get rid of this shit?

try uninstalling firefox
deleting the folder off your HD

run MWB one more time
reinstall FF

Run MalwareBytes in safe mode, for starters. Or set it to run before Windows fully boots.

Not sure how to do this. I ran both MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware and Super found things Malwarebytes did not both with updated definitions. Not sure if that means anything other than the obvious though.

Ole girl hasn't been on her FB today so I'm not sure if the ads are gone yet either.

Uninstalling FF and deleting the folder, the reinstalling sounds like a good idea however.

Tools > Addons

Make sure it didn't install any addons like Tool bars and such. Wouldn't hurt to run SUPERAntiSpyware and Ccleaner (Cleaner & Registry) on your machine as well.

Ran Super, ran Malwalebytes, ran CCcleaner, nothings changed. I am trying to uninstall Firefox and then delete the file folder in programs, but it won't let me because I don't have permission. A box that says "try again" pops up.

What sucks is my girl did this on my uncles desktop and he don't have a clue and I'd like to keep it that way..

Sounds like she needs her own laptop and not know the password to yours.

son. First of all u need 2 do the following.

1. dont listen 2 da n00bs.
2. Use a different internets access point and get da name of da virus by doin hijackthis thang on their forums and by using conventional methods such as antivir/antimalware/etc. This should be pretty straighforward.
3. Wit internets acces from 2 u gotta search for the proper way to remove that problem and that problem only unless u want to reinstall shitloads of thangs and be unsure of your success in removing da app.

Biggest problem da casual user has wit dis is that he searches for a general problem 2 a specific one.

God bless.
