meh, Cuban said the Mavs arent going to do anything and havent been involved in anything, even though they have clearly been in talks with Detroit about Prince.

Stein- "Mavs had high interest in J.R Smith, along with Prince, in part to reunite Smith w/Mav consultant Tim Grgurich. Nuggets NOT interested, tho"

Still surprises the hell out of me that the Mavs were/are interested in that clown.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cubes has assholed his way out of anyone wanting to do business with him.

Butler acknowledged the rumors a couple weeks back and admitted he knows it's part of the business if something were to happen.

Not getting Prince is a good thing. He is overrated, and at this point in his career he is not worth what he will probably want to end up resigning, nor is he worth his price currently. I'd like him on the Spurs on the cheap on the bench but I wouldn't trade shit for him. He doesn't really help the Mavs anyway, so good news for them. They need a wing player that can put points on the board, do they not realize this? All I'm hearing is that Dallas is trying to get Cs and PGs.

The Mavs would let Prince walk in the summer or S&T him and bring Butler with the MLE back...

now rumor has it Mavs and Jazz are in talks, something like Butler + Stevenson for Ak-47 and C.J. Miles. Interesting, especially since both are also expiring contracts.

I hate Prince and I want him gone, but he would have helped the Mavs. He's not a great scorer, but the Mavs don't need a 20 point scorer. Prince can put up 12-15 points efficiently on few shots. And while he has been widely overrated defensively throughout his career, he's still quite solid. If Prince can get back to a role where he's a fourth option where he won't get double teamed and just has to make open shots and smart plays, he would help a lot of contending teams.

I think he'd fit nicely on the Lakers actually where they would go big and let Prince defend the PG position.
