I hate him with a passion. I'm not even going to get into the reasons why... Lets name them...If you hear him say anything that is walton-esque post it.

I'm gonna start off with something he said in game 3.

"oh.. he just got raped."

You can't take anything Walton says seriously.

I don't really hate him but he gets all over Amare's nuts when Tim doesn't even touch him and then Tim SCHOOLS him on the other end, then defends him into an airball and nothing, NOTHING.

Just did it again, SCHOOLED him on one end, defended him into another airball, NOTHING....

promote the up-and-comers, forget about the bonafide stars, typical espn

Walton is the quintessential bandwagon rider. He just loves the team that appears to be winning. If the Spurs had pulled it off Monday night, he would be so rapturious he would have forgotten his gig on Sirius...

:lol

Walton: "Manu hasn't done anything tonight."

Other guy: "He's got four assists."

"the spurs can't make anything from the outside.. they're hesistant to shoot"

and then the spurs hit three in a row.

People just need to realize Bill Walton gets paid by the colorful metaphor. Throw down a couple of beers, light up the bong, whatever you do, and just sit back and enjoy Hippievision.

Waltons the bomb

What's that loud, sucking sound? Nnevermind, Walton is just talking about Amare again.
or joe johnson.

joe is a good, young player. he's not an elite shooting guard yet ... stop treating him like one.

Johnson is the reason this series ain't over. Maybe if we ever bothered to stop him, he wouldn't look like an elite guard.

"That was Wayne Gretzki" (Steve Nash's layup)-Bill Walton

i'm not insulting johnson. i agree with aggie that we're making him look better than he actually is. i guess i'm just tired of hearing about him and amare right now.

no biggie ... i can live with walton or turn off the volume. =/

The series ain't over because Tim Duncan missed just about every damn free throw he took, if as a team we shot our season percentage we win that last game.

I think he just said ginobili is playing dirty.

"dont try and come under a guy.. thats not how to play the game"

he was trying to take a charge you dumbass

mavsfan1000
06-01-2005, 09:16 PM
He was also hinting that Duncan was getting special treatment from the refs.

The main problem I have with Walton is he says the same thing about all players.

"Shaq's the best big man in the game"
"Tim's the best big man in the game"
"Divac has the best hands of any big man in the game"
"Duncan has the best hands of any big man in the game"

On and on... it just appears he thinks the player he is currently watching is the best player in the game - until the next game when the teams change. Oh, and his new 25 cent phrase of the week, "They won the genetic lottery". OK, how many times can he say this before it gets old?

a phrase that is applicable to mr. walton's commentary is "tounge in cheek"...once you understand that you won't be posting mean things about him on the internets

Walton's most famous line would be:

"Throw it down big man...throw it down!!!"

or you can substitute the word "man" with "fella".

He accused Manu of undercutting Amare, he basically said to give up a dunk. Wasn't he one of the guys that begged for "playoff fouls"

"Tongue in cheek" Is it because he used to stutter?

PM5K
06-01-2005, 10:17 PM
"He got kicked in the groin, a very effective defensive technique"

ZStomp
06-01-2005, 10:37 PM
What the fuck was Walton saying about the ball touching Parker and not Amare..that its not a foul?

Does that mean I can throw the ball at someones face and since my body didn't touch the defender...it's legit?

AZLouis
06-01-2005, 10:38 PM
Yes;

Mario Elie a la Danny Ainge

All those plays when an out of bounds player is taking the ball and throws it off a defenders back who isn't watching.

No he said it wasn't a foul because he didn't actually touch Parker, but that the ball did....

Are you still fretting about Bong Bill? Hell, a guy who still plays the Grateful Dead and wears tie-dyed can't be all bad, eh? Sometimes I love him and sometimes I hate him. I just wish, with all his money, he could do something about that deviated septum...

I think he is pretty funny. I just get irritated when he starts talking about how great Shaq is. He definitely makes the broadcasting more interesting but his favoritism towards the lakers 2000-03 and the heat now annoys me.

"I dislike Bill Walton"

Along those lines:

I dislike 3rd degree burns.
I dislike snakes.
I dislike the IRS.
I dislike lawyers.
I dislike gaping head wounds...

The list of the blatently obvious goes on...
