On another site threads there was an allusion that ESPN stated that every team that started 45 and 9 or better won the title but I am having trouble finding a reference to that quote and/or a site that shows records at the 3/4 mark mean historically. Does anyone have a source for this data?
This was on another site:
Sidenote:
Speaking of Spurs... according to ESPN, teams that have gone 45-9 during the regular season, has always gone to win the championship for that season. The San Antonio Spurs this season has already passed that mark 2 games ago.

The following shows the top records of the full season and those that won titles and did not.
