Wasn't he just a guard and not a PG? Besides, was he even the best player on the '72 title team?

He was a PG, 6'2 means fucking PG. And yes he was the best.

He was still surrounded by HoFers. He was a scoring guard as well.

OK maybe your right. Then lets go with Lefty's idea and include Isiah Thomas in this discussion.
Isiah Thomas now agrees with your statement.

lol the Magic Johnson argument. The biggest shot of Magic Johnson's career was a sky hook over two 7 footers in the most congested area of the court. The day Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Derek Rose, Steve Nash, Russell Westbrook or Rajon Rondo makes a game winning sky hook over two 7 footers in the NBA finals, I'll slice my nuts off, film it, then post the video on youtube.

Captain West is the best player on the Hornets and has proved it this season. With him out the team would not win 30 and games and score less than 80 points a game...

Tiny was the best player on the Kings, who were dogshit. He was about the fourth best player on the '81 Celtics.

Led 2 Nets teams to the finals in the shitty east, but it still should count for something

Could you imagine this guy if he had a decent number 2 playing beside him. I know he played 2 for a time in his career, but he is still only like 6'0.

Iverson was a shooting guard in a point guard's body.

So the best example is two point guards who led their team to the finals in maybe the worst 3 year period for any conference ever (the 2001-2003 East) and then proceeded to get curbstomped by the team worthy of being in the finals. Thanks for playing and proving my point.

And it would be impossible for a good #2 to ever play with AI. He dominated the ball to much and would give dirty looks to the #2 whenever the #2 missed a shot.

OK, I'm imagining a skilled #2 standing around getting pissed that A.I. will only pass him the ball when it's a possible assist for A.I.. It's truly epic.
