Time for G-Hill to step up.

George Hill is very good when he stays within what he does best (defense, corner three, fast break). Distrbuting the ball as a PG is not one of them.

The game actually turned back in our favor against Memphis when Pop went to Quinn who knows how to pass the ball. The key to backup PG is actually Neal who has shown to be more effective when passing the ball than Hill.

I think Manu would be the one to pass the ball. Hill, Neal and Anderson should take more shots.

If we can get Neal to play as aggressive as he did the last time he came out then we'll be fine on initiating the offense. Neal was shooting, driving and passing like he was still playing for Pallacanestro. Nice to see again.

And despite the shooting woes, Manu's passing has always been on. Those two will run the offense while Hill and Quinn are stand-in's at the PG position.

he's had some woeful turnovers, and some amazing dishes - but if manu is running the point, he'll have to be more consistent IMO. he shouldn't go for the killer pass on every play if he's going to play a higher volume at point because that's just gonna mean high turnover numbers.

With Manu, you never can tell what he's gonna do with the ball. Most of the time, its good for the spurs. Sometimes, you can just scratch your head because of a silly turnover by Manu.

D Arthur is the second coming of Wilt, at least when matched up vs Bonner

Brazil
03-01-2011, 08:44 PM
I think he doesnt have that much fire from last year. Maybe Pop needs to tell him he's not ready every year.

Globally I don't think he improved his game compared to last year which is a little worrisome for a young player

HarlemHeat37
03-01-2011, 08:44 PM
That should have been goaltending, Arthur was still on the rim..

Spurs look really shaky so far, but Memphis has made a lot of fluky shots..

It's very discouraging to see Arthur and Haddadi dominating Bonner and Splitter on the boards..Battier manhandling Jefferson, too..

Spurs better hope they don't get Memphis in the playoffs, as I've been saying all year..

The Lakers have the best frontcourt in the NBA, but their physicality doesn't even come close to matching Memphis(which is evident when they play each other, since Randolph-Gasol usually get the better of Gasol-Bynum-Odom)..this would be the worst matchup for the Spurs' weak/soft frontcourt..all of the Grizzlies bigs are aggressive as fuck..

Memphis is tough, first game without TP, and there's the revenge factor for the last game..
