Gotta give him props for admitting he sucked and apologizing to the fans. Wouldn't see something like that from many other players.

idk how you can be such a mentally weak puss bag while in the league. if you're a 6th man type professional, can't bring that weak shit. i'd be the cockiest mofo out there even as Brian Scalabrine.

Damn right he should apologize, because he absolutely sucked today. He seemed like he was trying to force passes that just werent there. Like SpursRulez said, be yourself and go out there and score....let Manu worry about setting people up.

Didn't see the game, so I don't have any of this pinned-up anger that most've ST seems to have. I just feel bad for the guy that he feels he needs to apologize "to SA."

Why the hell should he be apologizing? Players have bad games.... I'd have more respect for him if he didn't apologize.

Agreed. Nobody is happy with Hill's performance tonight (apparently, Hill included) but I still love this guy's character and honesty. Some nights just nothing goes right, and tonight was one of those nights.

Hill will rebound from this performance.

He was pathetic out there.

-13 with him on the floor.

6 Turnovers, 6 points, in almost 27 minutes.

I think us fans deserve every bit of apology he set forth.

Hopefully the guy is mad and brings it to Cleveland.

He had a bad game. It happens. He'll get right back in it; he's very talented and he wants to win.

Hope he doesn't take it too hard, and just uses it for motivation.

Yeah, I know he played like a dog. I could care less what he does against Cleveland. A good performance against a crap team won't make any difference at all. I have no doubt he'll have a better performance though.

Since I'm not a Twitter person, I can do without the apology. I just want him to cut down on his turnovers, defend and play the PG position in a natural fashion.

I wouldn't quite call him mentally weak, but if he keeps having his good games at home, and bad games on the road, I may change my tune.

IMHO I think it would be better if he just let's his play dictate his actions.

The :cooldevil advocate in me asks the question,"What happens if he has another bad game?."

Him talking outside the inner circle kind of magnifies the need for him to play much better.

Not saying he can play worse, but ask the LAL how it feels to lose to CLE?

Just play within yourself. You're starting but think like you did when you were coming off the bench.

Spot on. And when he attacks the basket and does his thing he tends to set people up naturally. That's what he did filling in for TP last year. :tu

Oh, but don't forget to work some lob plays for RJ too - time he put in some rim rockin.

i accepted a long time ago the fact that the "away" George Hill is just a middle-of-the-pack NBA player. his ppg, bpg, spg and percentages all go down considerably on the road.

some guys just aren't cut out for playing in a hostile environment. the guy literally pisses himself in away games. good thing we've got Neal.

dude he's been doing this for the last 3 years, i don't know why you're giving him the benefit of the doubt. he's for the most part consistently played horrible on the road ever since he's been here.

Hill beat the Mavs in the playoffs last year. He has nothing to apologize for.

Spurminator
03-02-2011, 11:19 AM
An apology is not sufficient. We fans just had to suffer through an ELEVENTH loss this season. I gave the Spurs three hours of my free time that could have been spent playing video games or watching something else on TV. George Hill clearly didn't respect my time enough to not have a bad game.

We demand justice!

Props for apologies, but better if he just kicks Session ass today. Then everybody will forget that game.

Brazil
03-02-2011, 12:03 PM
This was not necessary, he had a bad game it happens, everybody has bad games. He needs to move on and not being worried about what a fan base thinks IMHO.

If he continues to suck what will happen ? He will need to tweet apologies after every game ?

SenorSpur
03-02-2011, 12:06 PM
No apologies necessary. He just needs to focus on playing better and not take any more compromising photos of his private parts.

Hard to know if Hill saying this is a good or bad sign.

He is either very mentally weak that he thinks he has to apologize and is crushed mentally from now on.

Or he realizes he can and will play better and beasts next game (quite easier against Cleveland but whatever).

Hard to know.

I think itīs clear that he can "Play PG" with Manu by his side because Manu is the real PG there. But he is plain UNABLE to play PG all by himself.

James Anderson and Neal shown a better feel for what a play demands than Him.

I say its the latter...Neal and Anderson weren't asked to control the ball and/or run the offense. Hill took a huge shit in the game yesterday but I don't expect it to kill his confidence, look for a better game from him tonight.

Hill has shown his potential, the guy can be a lethal weapon but he has to be aggressive and attack the basket. Hill's weakness is the half court game, he should be attacking the whole time he's in the game.

I don't know how everybody can dog this guy after one terrible performance. He's done reasonably well this year with a few flashes of greatness. TP is out, and that puts a tremendous amount of pressure on a third year player to start at PG on this Spurs team (especially considering he's been playing behind TP). He sucked his first outing as starting PG, he admitted it, AND he publicly apologized for it. It takes a lot of balls to do that, and I applaud him for that. I can't imagine any other player doing the same.

I expect a VERY SIGNIFICANT rebound game from him tonight.:toast

I think Georgie played terrible, but he owes nobody an apology. He didn't play badly because he doesn't care or because he doesn't prepare. The starters scored 40 points; sometimes you have a bad night.
