the same odds as Portland falling out of playoff contention. I'd take the under.

How many years can the Blazers fail so miserably?

OP should focus more on his team then about the spurs

longer than Oden's knees could hold.

You guys are a late seed every fucking year since Oden etc. gets hurt all the tiem, why not worry about your later seeds then our #1 seed! You guys will never be in the convo for that though now will you? :lol:lol

5 games is a lot of ground to cover.

A lot longer than bionic knee repair surgery will be invented for pro basketball players, particularly those who play in the pacific northwest.

Why do Dallas want 1st seed? To be eleminated by 8th seed?

Spurs would need to have an epic meldown, to lose the 1 seed.

If Chandler is out an equal amount of time as Parker, we should be able to hold it...

If Chandler is back next Dallas game, maybe 15 games before we lose the #1 seed...

You've gotta figure that that game at Memphis represented a confluence of everything that could possibly go wrong going wrong at the same time. I think that Pop will have the team ready and with each game they'll get more in sync. Plus, if/when the Mavs close to within two games, who honestly doesn't think the Spurs won't scrap like its a playoff game? I think that the Spurs are deep and mature enough to hold on, no doubt.

Depends on how quickly TP is back to his normal self. We have LA, Heat, and Celtics coming up and those could get ugly if we keep losing to teams like Memphis.

the mavs pile up wins like noone in the league. It's very possible.

They can catch the spurs but IMO that would be a mistake as they have shown they fail miserably in the spotlight.

Oh, I never thought of this one. 'tis true. Mavs may catch the Spurs, but then they would be the favorites. Y'all know what happens when that happens :lol

Actually...there is one team that piles them up more, they have 49 wins and start with a S and end with a purs. :downspin:

It was a bad night and memphis is a playoff team that matches up well with us, in their building, no shame in losing to them.

And I'm sure they were pissed about the loss Sunday night and took it as extra motivation.

Its not easy to come back from five games back with only about 20-25 games to go. Spurs are gonna have to go in a major slump and the Mavs are going to have to go on a really good hot streak. With that said, I think we'll keep the #1 seed all the way to the Playoffs.

I hope you are right bro! 21 left for us, but we have Miami and LA this weekend, that there is huge to win atleast one of them! JUST ONE is needed but if we win none of those and they win two they are only 3 fucking back! That is scary as hell with 19 left, nothing too much on that end to overcome.

I'm pretty sure they can hold onto it for another 10 years IMO. I could be biased though.

Games this upcoming week are a great indicator as to how we will hold on to the #1 seed.

If we at least win one, we'll be okay.

And oh yeah, the Mavs need to start losing some fucking games. geez man

The Spurs are all but a lock for the 1# seed, in my opinion. Boston, Miami or Dallas would have to put up an out-of-this-world performance - i.e., going undefeated - to have a shot.

First off how the *&%? can anyone be a Spurs and a Mavs fan? Secondly, it is plausible, even though improbable for the Mavs to catch the Spurs due to remaining tougher schedule of the Spurs and the head to head game but if the Spurs win on the 18th it would be almost impossible. Spurs made up 3-4 games to win the division at least once vs. the Mavs in the last decade and Mavs are a very good team and could go on losing only 3 or so games. Boston may catch the Spurs as they also have another game against the Spurs even more plausibly.
This is as good as source as any as it uses a model to predict the wins and Spurs currently at 64 and Mavs 59 but I expect it to come down to 2-3 games at most as if Pop locks up West he may just sit Duncan, Parker and Manu the last 2-3 games of the season and it would not surprise me at all if the Mavs won 61-62 games.

Mavs schedule and realistic way they could go 18 and 4 going fwd but they are going to have to continue to play well.

www.nba.com for schedule
18 and 4 and they would have to play very well to do this - Mavs schedule is actually not as easy as I thought they face a lot of teams trying to get 5-8 and the LAL 2x and Knicks, Spurs one time. So if Spurs go 12 and 9 and beat them or 13 and 8 Spurs win the HCA at least in the West most likely.
