I don't post much, sorry if this has already been talked about, but this article says in hindsight Tim Hardaway had the better career out of the players eligible for rookie of the year when David won it. It is at the bottom of the page in a table. Someone please tell me I am misreading...

you misread it.

He's saying Hardaway was the best player of the 89-90 draft.

That's not what he said. He was mentioning who the best player in the previous draft class was the year the first player won the ROY award. Blake Griffin was drafted two classes ago, John Wall was the best player in the last draft.

David Robinson was drafted in 87 but won ROY in 89. Tim Hardaway was drafted in 89 and was the best player in that draft.

Look again.

Best in class. When Blake Griffin is named Rookie of the Year in a few months, it will be the first time in 21 years that a player was honored after missing his true rookie season. The last such winner was David Robinson, whose Navy obligations kept him joining the NBA until 1989-90, two years after he was drafted by the Spurs.

Griffin's late arrival has taken attention from Wizards point guard John Wall, the No. 1 pick who has emerged as the best player of last year's draft. Here's a look at the last 20 rookies of the year, with a hindsight opinion on which player from each draft turned out to have the best career.

Once again, David Robinson and Tim Hardaway weren't drafted in the same class. David Robinson was drafted in 87 and was the best player in that draft. Tim Hardaway was drafted in 89 and was the best player in that draft. If he went back 2 more years, I bet you'd see DRob's name in the second column for the 87 class.

No, he read it right. He's saying Robinson was the ROY but Hardaway had the better career in hindsight.

No, he's saying best player of the draft year. For example, Evans was ROY, but Griffin was the best player in the draft.

Robinson was the best player of his draft, which was two years before Hardaway was drafted.

I'll take your word for it until I go back and read it again. I've got beer to drink and Spurs to watch. :)

I've seen my posts in this thread. I simply stated the truth. Not much to laugh at.

You coming in and attempting to troll out of absolute nowhere makes me lol.
