View Full Version : Jeff Van Gundy's prediction of a Heat come back

... was not the only stupid Heat prediction he made.

Before the NBA season started, former NBA coach Jeff Van Gundy predicted that the Miami Heat would win 72 games and break the single-season wins record, set by the Chicago Bulls in the 1995-96 season.

Now that Miami has lost 14 games so far, former Bulls forward Scottie Pippen had some words for Van Gundy.

In an interview with Adam Figman of SLAM, the Hall of Famer ripped Van Gundy for his prediction and called him a "jackass."

lol...JVG is an idiot. First off, 72 wins wouldn't have broken the record...Chicago won 72 games..would have been a tie. Second off, JVG will never forgive the Spurs for beating his Knicks in '99...he'll always talk trash about them. He's become a headcase when it comes to the Spurs. I firmly believe that if the Spurs win the title this year, he'll be on top of the tallest building taking people out with a sniper rifle.

I didn't realize he coached that team. That explains it. He always seemed like a knowledgeable guy that for some reason couldn't give the Spurs credit. In one case I can remember, Stackhouse committed a dirty foul by throwing Ginobili to the ground on his back, and then picked himself up by pushing off Ginobili's neck. Jackson said something to the effect of 'that's a dirty play,' but Van Gundy was ok with it.

I always thought Van Gundy had a grudge against the Spurs, I just never knew why (I figured it was from his days with the Rockets). That clears things up a bit.

Also, I bet if Jackson calls him out on his prediction he'll say Dampier getting ejected changed the game. :lol

JVG is a fucking idiot, just like Jon Barry and all those Heat/Laker/Knick nut hugging faggots who are employed by ESPN.

JVG wants to coach Miami. THat's why he's been sky high on them from day 1. He definitely should be a candidate if/when Spo gets the axe.

Actually I think he's the best commentator ESPN has on their NBA broadcast team. He isn't inane like the others. He gives coach level insights. Yes he has a hard on for the Heatles but just deal with it.

He is. At least Van Gundy will pick a side. Brown is just bag man for the boy's downtown. & he's a hypocrite. A renowned ref baiter as a coach, now he sings their praises and begs their pardon. He's a royal shit.

Ooh, forgot about Hubie. He's not on very much. I really like him too. They both give coaching insights but I think I like JVGs style better. Anyway yes Hubie is very watchable too.

And, no thank you to your kind request.
