Gotta give props when they're due, and holding your last 3 opponents to below 90 points definitely deserves a shout out.

Dallas will give the Lakers a dog fight in the 2nd round, and if things go their way, the Mavs can pull off the upset, but the title goes through LA.

I like the way the Lakers are winning these inelegant, grind-out type of games, an aesthetic every Spurs fan here should be familiar with.

That said, they're still a bunch of faggots.

The way they rebound can't be ignored. That front line scares the shit out of me, even if one of them is an always injured pussy. He's still 7 feet tall with arms that belong on a ape, not a human being. In addition to their frontline, they also have a very capable perimeter defense that finally seems to be hitting its collective stride. We can deny it all we want, but the Lakers are perfectly built for the playoffs and it will take a massive effort to dethrone these assholes should the Spurs meet them.

But I don't fear "the Mamba." Never have, never will.

midnight with the goods. WTF? Anyway, the Spurs kicked the shit out of the Hype tonight in convincing fashion. See you guys in the WCF. Although we know how this story will end. ;)

Will be a fun series if it comes to that.

The Lakers are absolutely dominant on the boards. Their front line is starting to round into form, and that should definitely scare a small team like the Spurs.

Andrew Bynum, in particular is really rounding into form. His presence is absolutely game changing, you can't contain him on the offensive glass and you certainly aren't going to the rack when he's lurking. He's finally achieving the athleticism we all saw two seasons ago before all of his injuries. He has to stay healthy for any of this to matter though.

With Barnes coming back soon, the Lakers will be at full strength with all their main cogs healthy heading into the playoffs. While all of the other teams have been busting their ass for the top seed, the Lakers have literally taken a whole half-season off and now they are changing gears and getting ready for another deep playoff run.

Pay attention. This is how you pace a multi-championship winning team. This is something Popovich never figured out.

My assessment of Lakerfan's knowledge about the NBA outside his own team remains true. If you bothered to get off Jerry Buss's cock and watch the Spurs this year, you'd know they are not "busting ass" for the number one seed. Their starters are collectively playing 20 minutes less than the Lakers.

Yeah, Pop never figured it out, even though the Spurs practically invented the "coasting" concept in the modern era. Simply put, they got beat during the repeat campaigns. It had nothing to do with how they "paced" themselves during those regular seasons.

Stop trying to talk basketball, Jeff. Every time you do, you embarrass yourself.

The Spurs did not "invent" the coasting concept. Neither did Phil Jackson.

Outside of the times the Spurs lost to the Lakers there is no reason why they couldn't have repeated. The league was weak as shit after Kobe+Shaq ended.

You lost to the FUCKING MAVERICKS.

That comment was somewhat sarcastic. Point is, Popovich teams in the Duncan-era have usually "paced" themselves, more concerned with being healthy and fresh during the playoffs than with the number one seed. If you actually watched basketball and followed the NBA, you'd know that.

And you're a fuckin' idiot if you think the 60-22 '06 Mavericks weren't a strong team.

Much better team than the '09 Rockets, Jazz, Nuggets, Magic, and the '10 Thunder, Jazz, and Suns, and on par with the 50-32 Celtics with a senior citizen lineup who lost their starting center for Game 7.

Yeah, in the 2nd round...not the 1st like the Lakers. And not even making the Playoffs at all in 2005? But, but, but I thought Kobe was the greatest? :lol

Blowing a 3-1 lead to the Suns who were without Amare is pretty embarrassing.

Better to get swept than to choke.

Even more embarrassing for "The Mamba" is the fact that Smush Parker outplayed him in like 3 key games.
