The Suns are now just 1/2 games out of the 8th and final playoff spot, half a game behind Memphis.
And the Grizzlies play Dallas next, then OKC.
The Suns do have a slightly softer remaining schedule than Memphis.
I'm rooting hard for this matchup to happen. 1#, I don't want the Spurs to play the Grizz again in a series - it would take a toll. 2#, of course - eliminating Phoenix is a high of happiness that few other things can match.
PHX would be an easy out.

I definitely want a rematch. Channing Frye and Dudley are never gonna shoot like that in a playoff series in their fucking lives.

I wouldn't want the Suns again. We've had some pretty serious issues with them in the past, and Nash is still one of the best players in the NBA. Plus, there's a history and they'd be pumped up to beat us.
I'd much rather have the Grizzlies or the Trail Blazers, as it's less edgy and less personal. I'd sense we'd defeat either 4-0 or 4-1. The potential Suns series could be 4-2, 4-3 or worse.

Actually the Suns are not that bad. Steve Nash owns George Hill. I like our potential second round match-ups better but that's just me I guess. I just hope we avoid Portland in the first.

Dude,
You are way off if you think the Suns would be a problem for the Spurs. I would love this match up. The Spurs would be motivated for payback. It would be 4-0 or 4-1 at worst.

Don't you itch to see it happen?
Sure, the Suns fans would downplay it as much as possible, as well as the fact that Amare is gone, but it would still be wicked sweet.

Dream match-up? Every Spurs-Suns series ends in drama, including sweeps where we are on the wrong end. I don't really like the Grizzlies either. Give me Portland.

No Amare. That series would go 5 games, max.

This. Portland scares me, especially when San Antonio doesn't seem to want to post anyone up with Aldridge guarding them to draw fouls and get him out of the game. Spurs would win the series but it would be a tough 4-2 or 4-3 with each team winning a game on the road.

No Amare. No Dragic. I'm not scared. Bring it on.

Would rather have the Suns than the Blazers (really don't want them, they could let Roy off the leash for the play-offs and they have Gerald Wallace now...) or Nuggets. Jazz would be even better.

There isn't an easy team to out in the West. It's really a competitive conference. That's why HCA is so instrumental. It used to be that HCA wasn't that big a deal because the bottom feeders were horrible, but a lot of these low seed team are particularly good at home (ie Portland, Memphis, Denver) and are more than capable of taking games 3 & 4.There won't be a boring first round matchup in the West.
I would rather see the Suns more than anyone in the first round. No more Amare eliminates half the problem. Plus this Spurs team is just so much better in various ways than last years team. We'd probably beat them in 5 games, at most 6.
Memphis is scary because they're talented and they've played us tough at home and away. And remember they don't even have Rudy Gay right now.
With Portland, Aldridge is like the new Amare for us. We can't stop him. Add in the fact that maybe Roy goes off in a series, and i don't want to see them.
Even if the Suns take us to six (doubt it), it's not going to be one of the grind it out series, which means our guys won't get banged up. Portland and Memphis are pretty good defensive teams (esp. now with Memphis having Battier), and I could see both those teams wearing down SA next series.
Having said that, the only team capable of beating SA in a series in the entire league is LA. Dont like Boston w/o Perkins.

Have you been watching this year? :rolleyes
The Blazers and Grizzlies are matchup nightmares for us and are two of our 11 losses. They would play us tough all the way to 6 or 7 game series. We'd wipe the floor with the Amare-less Suns.

I'd actually like to see em play the grizzlies.
A good young team with good bigs to give them a good kickstart.
Their former championship years always had young tough teams to start to help out.

Spurs would be motivated to beat Suns too after last year. Similar to how Spurs lost as #2 seed to #7 Mavs then reversed roles the next year. Remember the last game of the season last year was against Mavs, I believe Spurs could have gotten a different opponent if Pop had wanted to win game but he elected to rest everyone.
