He may grow into one of our most important pieces to the puzzle, the guy had some balls last night.

I think Sequ should go eat some crow now.

Beno has sucked it up through the playoffs thus far sure he had a good game but overall he has been less than stellar.

As far as I'm concerned sequ can eat crow when you do in regards to Dncan = CWebb

I'm so sick of this vindication shit.

Beno showed something in this series. I actually beleived he played better against Phoenix than Parker did. 'Course, I think Parker stunk it up this series.

Mebbe Beno will be good...mebbe he won't. I'd sure like to see him put some pressure on Parker.

Someone has to.

SUNS HEAD COACH MIKE D’ANTONI

D'Antoni: They just we just ran into a better team. They played well tonight. (Tony) Parker and (Beno) Udrih had some big shots that we were kind of conceding. They made enough to beat us.

Did you hear TD chastise the women interviewer when she asked how a 4% 3 point shooter like Beno could hit back to back 3's?

It was hilarious. Some women and men do not belong in sports journalism, if they can not even know stats of the players that they are covering.

Beno had to make the transition to both the NBA and living in a new country... I think he has done a great job. He clearly has the support of the team. How many times have we seen Timmy put his arm around him during games and give him words of encouragement? He's had a pseudo big brother in Rasho, which I'm sure has been great for Beno to have someone to speak to in his native tongue. And Manu, having been-there-done-that in the NBA/new country department, has kind of taken Beno under his wing a bit. With all of the experience Beno has had this year and with the continued support of his teammates, he is going to be much stronger next year and a more confident weapon. Hopefully, we will be able to keep him for a little while before some other team snatches him up as their starter.

Beno will be a very good player and a reliable backup to the Spurs for years to come. He is capable of breaking out and not being sure if the Spurs will be able to keep him after his rookie contract is over. Beno belongs in the NBA.

It was "14%" and I think she was referencing his 3-point FG % for the series, not the regular season. Tim was right, Beno is a good 3-pt shooter. He's just been off the last few games. I'd like to see him come in and give us the 20+ night he did during the season. I think THAT'S the real, and future, Beno. Can't wait till Scola comes next year.

Have you been watching the same playoffs as I have? Parker played very well the first 3 games, had a bad game 4, and had a solid game 5. Hardly stinkin it up. If anyone stunk it up this series it was q clipperson and marion. Man if 20 ppg and 5 apg while shooting around 50% is stinkin it up, I wonder what tony looks like when he plays great.

I think he looked an awful lot like a young Tony Parker this series in terms of struggling to be aggressive, but eventually finding some success. This guy is going to be a great starting point guard someday.

Beno proved he belonged in the NBA with his play over the season. I thought it was remarkable how much confidence Pop has shown in this rookie against MVP quality players in the playoffs.

And he proved he wasn't fazed by all the hoopla about the playoffs. While he was in, He drove to the basket, played some solid D, ran the team and made some shots.

"rasho wont be traded"

With Nazr in, Rasho is obviously in the backseat. Ideally, Rasho will respond, in his 3rd year as a Spur, to up his level (as we saw him do in March when he came back from his ankle injury). I'd like him to stick around as reliable, but expensive, backup center, and see he and Nazr fight it out for PT. He, Nazr, and the Spurs will benefit from such "internal competition".

Go Rasho Go! Go Nazr Go!

Oh, about as upset as Tim was when Antonio was traded. But I agree with you Mr. Body, Rasho will be traded. Question is will it be in the offseason or before 2006 trading deadline -- assuming there is a 2006. hehehe

With Nazr given a full training camp alongside Tim, he is the future center for years to come. Spurs Mgmt will dump Rasho's contract (like they did Malik's) to some team in need of center -- and there are PLENTY of teams out there who need a competent center like Rasho.

Damn, I have to give Spurs Mgmt props for their farsightedness. I think they traded for Nazr knowing full well that if he worked out they'd trade Rasho. Thanks Isiah (Thomas). LMAO

I don't think the Spurs will trade Rasho...he has a reasonable contract for a big man and Horry is not gonna be here forever...You guys are letting the West platoff run and gun games cloud your judgement...if the finals turn out to be defensive slugfests Rasho will be getting valuable minutes...

The claim of 14% shooting beyond the arc in this series by Tony and Beno was mentioned by D'Antoni in his interview just before Tim's. He was lamenting how the Suns were greatly hurt by unexpected shots going down from two players who were having a rough series from beyond the arc. (I guess his scouting reports forgot to tell him that Beno was among the league leaders for much of the first half of the year & that Tony is a streak shooter who has hit several clutch shots for the kill)

The female reporter was working off D'Antoni's assertion that the Suns were hurt by bad shooters who got lucky. Tim set her straight.

The Spurs will listen to offers and probably sender out feelers for trades for everyone not named Duncan and probably Manu given his ability versus his contract size. Given a good deal Rasho is far, far from untouchable.

Your wasting your time. The haters, most who don't know jack about the game of hoops, are just haters. Hating is what they do by nature, without thought.

I used to to try to educate them, as a public service so they don't look so much the fool. Now I just laugh at them.

Tony will soon have his second ring at only 23 years old. He will join only Magic and Kobe in this exclusive class in the entire history of the NBA. His teammates, his competition and all fans with a clue understand the huge role Tony plays in the Spurs success.

The haters are all that is left. And we all know where that leaves them.

About the Reporter's comments:

Beno is 24% in the playoffs, down from 40% in the regular season.

Tony is only 20% in the playoffs, down from 27.6% in the reg season.

The 14% is wrong, but the idea is right: these guys have not been good 3-point shooters in the playoffs.

That said, I dare the Pistons or the Heat to leave these guys open.

Beno has done about as well as could be expected -- I like the fact he doesn't let bad play get him down and keeps plugging (and shooting) away. That said I would love to sign a guy like Van Exel if/when Portland passes on his option next season as insurance. Just idle thinking - he wants to come back to Texas.

I think(and TP fans don't get overexcited) that Beno is a better shooter and will eventually be a better passer than parker. I also believe that he is also equally if not more mature than Tony is. He's the backup right now but TP better start watching his back.

I agree with the parallels between Tony's rookie campaign and Beno's, they seem to be transparent.

I hope next season he will be a consistant and solid contributor to the tune of 10 PPG and 3 APG.

I like Beno, he has played good these last few games. I think he is starting to get into the groove. I will be a lot better after this year since having playoffs experience and a year after in the nba. I think he'll be like Manu and just get better and better every year.

Once beno gets more confident and dares to put his body on the line like manu takin it into the lane then he will surpassed parker by a leap year, parker doesnt have a jumpshot all he has is that drivin into the lane, beno will be very good in the future and he has to find a chick hotter then the one with parker....

"he has to find a chick hotter then the one with parker...."

For now, Tony can't be trumped, "officially". VH1's Top100 Hottest has Eva as #1.

I don't watch Desperate Housewives (never liked soft-core wannabe porn), but Eva's comments on VH1 seem to indicate she not your average, fuck-anybody-for-my-career ditzy bimbo with a pretty face. She seems to have a "mind" of her own, and is quite charming and natural.

The Spurs made an excellent pick when they chose Beno. Even tho he lacks NBA experience right now, it is apparent that he is a good shooter from midrange and long distance, and he looks like he could be a very good distributor. His passing is also pretty good. He will definitely keep Parker on his toes, and he will be an excellent backup when Tony has one of his "Parker" moments.

I do not want to be agressive, but please, try to base you explanations on facts.... because like some of us are writing here sometimes, " you're on crack man", and i would add : " yo man, your shit is fucking powerful !!!"

For the rest, i read the subject, and i explain my point about what is needed to be a starter in the nba, just like it was said earlier, the dna of Beno won't change and speed is required. But read my words about what is said in the game in europe, Beno could effectively be the starter. Already.

2. Slovenia is in Europe. We don't live under the same constitution, we have to learn from each other, so, i won't mind your ignorance. I do not speak French, that is my ignorance, so I forgive lapsus. That is if you can name Slovene vine manufacturer. ;)

3.Statistics

Tony has bigger minpg. Average points 16,6
Beno has a lot of minutes for a rookie, but still slim average 5,9

Tony when scoring less then 10 minutes has by far less wins then Beno under 10.

I can make even bigger statistical lies, so let us stop here. Tony is better then Beno. Both will and are getting better. Beno seems very promising, so maybe Tony will be more stagnating in his progress then Beno. Mybe then we would have something statistical data to talk about. Now they are like (Slovene saying) comparing apples and pears. So relax, and educate yourself about your european citizens. ;)
