Spurs fans need to calm down.Lakers fans need to shut up.Lakers will NEVER shoot that well again.
Lakers obviously had to win this game because:
1- 2 losses to the spurs.they had to send a message so spurs dont become over confident.
2-it was obvious with their hussel to get loose balls, offensive rebounds, and defense.they were more active
3-Lakers want HCA agasint dallas
Its a good thing spurs lost.its a good learning experience. spurs havent lost many games and you only learn from your mistakes.
Reasons they lost:
1-offensive rebounds by the lakers:
Solution: Start Dyss or slitter.Blair is a good player but cant do much agasint lakers 1st unit.he will be better agasint the second unit.
2-no ball movement, taking quick shots:Lakers were packing the paint, manu and parker had a tough time getting in
Solution: Dyss needs to start, he can make the mid range jumper and take gasol out of the paint.Spurs need to drive and get fouls on their bigs.Bonner should get more minutes agasint gasol so he can pull him out of the paint which will open up things for parker and manu.
3-Not intergrating timmy:Tim can still score 10-15 ppg can get 10+ rebounds.
Solution: if we are running, we dont need timmy, if the lakers will slow it down we have to go to tim.He can look for the open shooter, the cutter or try to score, tim is a HOF player he will bring it in the playoffs. He just cant fade away and pop should integrate him more this final month of the season.
4-Kobe shot extermely well and we have been following him all season long, he hasnt shot well at all.in game 7 and last year playoffs we saw Kobe.he lost alot but played well today.
Solution:Manu can guard Kobe to a degree. He can get steals and bothers him.Hill shouldnt guard him becasuse he posts him up every time.James Anderson showed some stong D against Kobe in the last quarter and he can do a better job IMO than Hill.Use Anderson more.
5-Not guarding their bigs:on Defense, splitter contested and altered some shots. If we play LA he will have to play more.In the 4th quarter he played well.He is bad on offense but at least we would get more rebounds.
6-Blair cant guard Odom:he game odom too much room and made 2 3s right in his face.
7-Lakers shot the 3 extemely well:As we saw the spurs shoot the 3s so well agasint miam, the lakers did the same.this wont happen. As pop said they hit their shots we missed ours.
One thing was clear, they cant stop TP.he got int he paint and did everything he wanted.Agasint the lakers, we need to run.To do that we have to contest on D get the rebounds and run.
Bottom line, spurs wont play this poorly, lakers wont play this well, spurs can win in 7 games, these are very fixable problems. No reason to panic.Believe in the spurs and stop the meltdown.

Spurs fans need to calm down.Lakers fans need to shut up.Lakers will NEVER shoot that well again.
They shot 46.7%. Which is the exact amount they shoot on the season per game so They shot 34.8% from three which is below their season average. They will not shoot that well ever again? Pushing it much no?
Nobody on the Spurs can guard Kobe. Kobe for the most part against the Spurs this season has just missed shots hes been able to get shots hes wanted just missed them. As for this game Kobe didn't shoot extremely well he shot 48% a good percentage above his 46% for the season nothing incredible to say he wont be able to do it again.
Defensively and their rebounding is what blew the game wide open not so much their shooting. I agree Lakers wanted it more which is a big part of why it was a blow out. Lakers are just playing more so to what they are capable of right now then they were earlier in the season vs the Spurs. Andrew Bynum is just being a defensive force and not worrying about his offense which has really helped the Lakers.

When the spurs starters were in and they were still trying the lakers shot 67% in the 1st quarter, bryant only missed his 1st 2 shots and the same in the 2nd quarter. In the 3rd when they put in their bench and scrubs is when the percentage went down.It wont happen again.yes Bynum was also a big factor.the bottom line is that the lakers hit all their shots in the 1st quarter and its touch to recover from being down almost 20 in the 1st quarter. You would be insane to think LA can shoot 70% again in a quarter against SA

Spurs do not play well with an early start. The team is notorious for coming out flat in daytime games. I've seen it happen a lot over the years. Fortunately there aren't too many daytime games in the playoffs and no back to backs. Spurs will be OK.
Lakers couldn't miss in the first quarter. Gasol even hit a 3pter. It just wasn't in the cards today. If Lakers play that well in a seven game series, then they deserve to win. Don't count on it though. These Lakers have too many players who "disappear" from time to time. Everybody just happened to be "on" today.

It's sad to say you are without a doubt one delusional P.O.S. The Lakers have nothing to prove. They don't have to win sh!t because they're the two-time defending champions. The defense was appalling once again. What a strange coincidence that another elite team thrashed the Spurs. It was just a matter of time before the offense slowed down and the deficiencies on defense would catch up with the Spurs.
The Spurs know how to lose all on their own so no, it wasn't a good learning experience. They haven't been losing because the schedule had been a cakewalk.

i actually think the problem is their new faster offense basically ignores duncan. i saw one play where they actually posted him up and it was a fallaway contested shot. maybe they dont want to go to him but this pick and pop to drive and kick can only work if they live by the 3.

Last year on April 4, 2010 Spurs beat LAL 100 to 81 with basically the same squad minus the Spurs deeper bench. Time to chill and move on. It was a horrible effort by the Spurs, no adjustments by the coach and Lakers were on fire and playing very hard - props to them on their nice regular season win. http://www.lakersuniverse.com/championships/2010_regular_season.htm

The Spurs losses this season all look very consistent...they've almost all come against hot-shooting teams and they've almost all been games where Pop threw in the towel in the 3rd quarter and emptied his bench, figuring he wasn't going to be able to stop a hotshooting team.
Fortunately, in the playoffs the seven game series always evens out the hot shooting nights...
