I watch these games when he doesn't get free throws he usually has a bad shooting night and has barely any assists.

Sounds like Kobe, tbh.

Imagine how good Durant would be if Westbrook didn't shoot too much.

well his ppg would go down by a good 8-10 pts..

Which a lot of players would suffer too and a lot of players aren't good without it.

I do think at least half of his FT's are just superstar call FT's. I wish refs would just call it the same for every player in the league, rookies or not. If they are vets or if they are the worst player in the league.

lmao
Without FTs Kobe, LeBron and Wade would average about 18 pts a game

Kobe, Wade, Pierce, Melo, Durant...all scoring wings get a ton of pts from the free throw line.

I hear when players get fouled sometimes they shoot ft's.

son I have been preaching this for a long time. take away the free throw line and the playing field is even. the NBA could no longer control who THEY want to be star players. only the truly legit star players could shine without the free throw line.

kobe is only at 12.

i find it interesting that the only spur on the list is the "flopper" manu...and hes all the way down at 26.

Good point. Here is what they really average (PPG - FTM/Game)

D12 23.1 – 6.7 = 16.4 ppg
KD 28.1 – 7.7 = 20.4 ppg
LBJ 26.2 – 6.6 = 19.6 ppg
Blake 22.7 – 5.5 = 17.2 ppg
Wade 25.4 – 6.3 = 19.1 ppg
K M 22.8 – 7.4 = 15.4 ppg
Melo 25.3 – 6.8 = 18.5 ppg
R WB 22.4 – 6.8 = 15.6 ppg
Amare 26.3 – 6.2 = 20.1 ppg
EG 23.7 – 5.9 = 17.8 ppg
Love 20.9 – 6.0 = 14.9 ppg
KB24 25.1 – 5.7 = 19.4 ppg
DWill 20.8 – 5.5 = 15.3 ppg
DRose 24.6 – 5.2 = 19.4 ppg

True PPG Rankings minus the free throw makes:

KD 28.1 – 7.7 = 20.4 ppg
Amare 26.3 – 6.2 = 20.1 ppg
LBJ 26.2 – 6.6 = 19.6 ppg
KB24 25.1 – 5.7 = 19.4 ppg
DRose 24.6 – 5.2 = 19.4 ppg
Wade 25.4 – 6.3 = 19.1 ppg
Melo 25.3 – 6.8 = 18.5 ppg
EG 23.7 – 5.9 = 17.8 ppg
Blake 22.7 – 5.5 = 17.2 ppg
D12 23.1 – 6.7 = 16.4 ppg
R WB 22.4 – 6.8 = 15.6 ppg
KM 22.8 – 7.4 = 15.4 ppg
DWill 20.8 – 5.5 = 15.3 ppg
Love 20.9 – 6.0 = 14.9 ppg

People erroneously think Kobe gets a ton of his ppg from FTAs. He is not even top 10. Plus he dunks maybe once every 5 games (slight sarcasm here) yet he gets beat up to the tune of busted fingers and what not. Let's compare him to KD. Despite playing 6 more games than KD, KD has shot 74 more FTs than Kobe. I find that fucked up. KD basically averages 9 FTAs/game. If Kobe got that kind of ref love, he would lead the league in scoring. Impressive since this is his 15th year in the league.

I forgot to say that most of Dwight FTA are legit. That guy gets fouled a lot b/c he's too much for a lot of players and he sucks at FT's. I would rather make him shoot 2 FT's then get those easy dunks.

Because driving into the lane and getting hacked shouldn't count for anything. Getting into the lane at will and forcing the other team to foul should count against a player when evaluating his overall game.

That makes sense.

Miami has 2 of the very best at getting the whistle, DWhistle and Bulldozer James. Bosh is 21st.

Surprised Rose is only getting 6.2 FTA/per.
