I think it was better than Inception and easier to understand. I admit I didn't really grasp the whole Inception idea, but I did come to my own conclusion with TAB.

Excellent excellent film. Those who say Hollywood is running out of ideas need to see this film. Really this is kind of an intellectual Christian's wet dream. :lol

The Departed ... and that was mainly thanks to the acting by Leo, Jack, and Marky Mark

It was good. Damon is good. Damon was good in it. Not that he needs any defense he's like one of the 4 or 5 most beloved actors in the world.

Good Will Hunting was a great movie, however a dumb beaner who probably sucks at math probably wouldn't like that movie too much.

It was ok, I thought he was much better as the anti Semite prick in School Ties.

^School Ties was another great Matt Damon movie. Forgot about det one.

The only thing about the movie is it's an unrealistic concept. A Jew who is from a poor area who gets into a school because of his superior athletic ability? Yeah, I'm sure that's a scenario that happened all the time.

I like Matt Damon a lot as an actor, and think he's been in several good films. Gerry and The Informant are two that don't get mentioned often, but both succeed largely based on the strength of Damon's performance.

Its harder to find a bad Matt Damon movie than a good one. He's been in a ton of good flicks; the Bourne movies, Saving Private Ryan (small part but still), Talented Mr. Ripley, The Informant, The Departed, Chasing Amy, The Rainmaker, Courage Under Fire, Invictus, Scfhool Ties, etc.

Yeah Matt Damon is pretty good. That said, the Eastwood movie he did recently and Green Zone were both pretty meh I just couldn't watch Green Zone. I got bored everytime I tried and gave up pretty fast. Actually I think he was pretty good in Hereafter but that was just a weak movie overall.

I also had never really known who Philip K Dick was until last night. Surprising since I love a lot of his works that have been made into film. I'm going to have to read some of his novels as he had a great way of conceptualizing.

I liked this movie alright. Kinda turned into a sappy love story but it was different. The guy who played Harry is also a pretty solid actor.

Really? You are in for a treat then. I still don't want them to make Ubik, it won't be right. I didn't care to see this either when I read how they changed it. A Scanner Darkly was done really well though.

Yeah I really don't know how I missed him considering I love Minority Report, Total Recall and Blade Runner.

oh yeah, Dick's original stories that I've read have all been way better than the movie adaptations.

After reading Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, I'm pretty disappointed with Blade Runner....honestly I'd love to see a remake that's more faithful to the book.

After seeing this thread resurface I caught it tonight. Well done movie and an interesting concept. Some of the limitations were kind of silly seeings how these were supposed to be heavenly beings(the water thing and Damon just punching one out with no problem immediately come to mind). Overall the acting was top notch though and the story development was engaging...which evened out some of the head scratching small details.

I didn't think this movie required a whole lot of deep thought. You could pretty much take everything at face value. I'm sorry you thought it was a "thinker".

I always thought Inception was the kind of movie that some people say that enjoyed because they thought it made them look smarter. Inception was a smart movie, and well-made. But you don't have to be a genius to follow the story line.

In any event, the reason I think its an intellectual Christian's wet dream is because of how it reconciles the free will dichotomy. Pretty clever, IMO.

yeah, its amazing how many movies Damon has been in without falling prey to too many terrible ones. Bourne 2/3 and Ocean's 2/3 are about as bad as a Damon movie gets.

didn't like True Grit, but Damon was good in it, the high point of it

Thought it was pretty weak, tbh. I'm all for movies that explore freewill and predestination, but not ones built around a puppy-love relationship consisting of a series of brief cute meetings.

There were a lot of parts in the movie that we laughed at but I'm not sure if the humor was intentional. Missed opportunity, I think.

I avoided it cause reviews said they shoehorned a love interest/story in it and ruined the story to an extent.

Adjustment Bureau was a chick movie. It's about undying love at first sight against even God. Guys don't do that shit, especially not politicians.

It could have deeper undertones like God made the black guy fall asleep and miss his mark which set the wheel in motion, but I didn't see anything that would support that position.

No, it was loopy at best. Tarantino would have done it better. Brian DePalma would have the chick getting gang raped right as Matt found her, and Tarantino would have her shacked up with a big black drug dealer, and have her smoking 5 packs a day. Matt Damon would have been more like Dexter than Pee Wee Herman he was in the movie.
