Ok, let's be logical here for a second, which is hard for some people, but all this talk about not having enough size, etc.
First of all, the Mavs will play the Lakers before we do, and they have 7 footers, so if size is a factor, they should be able to beat the Lakers.
Second, if the Mavs beat the Lakers, we don't need any size, Mcdyess will own Dirk like he did last year, and we'll win in 6, again.

Yeah, because everything stays the same from year to year. :lol

But what the Mavs don't have is the perimeter play that the Spurs do. While they may have taller bigs than the Spurs, the Spurs bigs play bigger. Nowitzki might as well be an SF, Chandler is a toothpick (I love how the Spurs have no one to guard Bynum, but this string bean is going to?), Haywood is seemingly only motivated when he's in a contract year and they have no true backup PF. Also, they're a worse rebounding team than the Spurs and that's with the Spurs holding back on Duncan's and McDyess' minutes on purpose. So this notion that they're better equipped to handle the Lakers bigs is nonsense.

Your logic is flawed. If the Mavs can supposedly off-set the Lakers size and beat them, then wouldn't that mean they'd have too much size for the Spurs?

Cool theory bro.
So tell me how can the Mavs beat the Lakers using their size?

Eddy Curry??

I bet the people that are completely panicked about our lack of size will agree with this signing. I wouldn't mind signing him for a 10 day contract, steve novak is a worst signing.... but he wont be the savior for many.

I just hope the Mavs can take the Lakers to 5 games.

Logic tells me that if the Spurs felt they needed another big then they would have already gotten one by now.

OK OK. a couple of things......Jason Kidd didn't have Tyson Chandler last year. Tyson chandler is one of the most solid centers in the NBA. With depth at the center position they do have a chance to compete with L.A. length. Don't know if they can beat L.A. but there chances have improved from last year. So lets say Dallas beats L.A. and meets us in the WCF. Some small changes might give us some problems. Not really worried about Chandlers post defense. More worried about his shot blocking/altering ability against Parker, Ginobili, Hill and Neal. As well as Defensive Rebounding. I think he's close to 10rpg. Another is there defensive toughness gain with adding Brewer and losing Butler. Remember Butler was a non factor last year.
