Phil Jackson was asked crying in basketball; first he said he didn't want to comment on the Heat ...

Then: "This is the NBA, no boys allowed. Big boys don't cry. But if you're going to do it, do it in the toilet where no one sees you."

Phil sure has a short memory...It was only in 2004 that he dripped tears and snot all over the pages of his ragequit book "The Last Season." Guess crying in basketball is okay when your star player forces you out.

Those tears were over the end of a 3 peat run and dynasty. Heats was over a sunday loss to the bulls in March

He didn't say "Big Boys don't cry except when they lose their three peat or I get forced out by my star player," he said "Big Boys don't cry."

Double standard? :lol

Studies have been done showing tears, as with other bodily functions ie poop, wizzers, sweat, boogs, etc are completely normal and in fact when repressed are abnormal. Now, does that mean i am saying I agree with and can identify with Derek Swisher, Luva and the Laker posters who cry when a sashe they were hoping to buy in a West Hollywood boutique ends up being sold out?

No. Please don't cry over everything and anything. But to try to twist the Heats failed efforts with the Lakers phony rigged *3 peat* as being legit reasons or not is bogus.

Agree that Spoelstra had no business airing it to the media.

But as for "crying is unmanly" stuff, it's fertilizer. The repressoids want to market it but it's really just them being all plugged up. Phil, as is his coaching life and persona, just rides the coatails when its to his advantage. All he is doing with this quote too.

Notwithstanding the truth and all...

unless of course you are talking about PJ's siding with Shaq and completely misjudging Dr. Buss and his comittment to winning.

Kobe was crying after the 2003 playoffs. He weeped like the little girl he is... and rapes.

I'm just not getting how a regular season game was so upsetting and disappointing as to result in tears.

Ron Ron does it again...:lol

Ron Artest went on the airwaves Monday and touched upon many subjects, such as crying, trade rumors, fans and his new mixed tape. Let’s start with crying, more specifically the tears that the Miami Heat players reportedly shed after losing Sunday to Chicago.

Artest said on NBA TV he supports letting your emotions run over, “to let things out.” “In my psychology sessions, I sometimes cry with my therapist,” he said. “We cry and hug each other; hold each other and talk. I think it’s a good thing to cry and let your emotions out rather than keep it inside.”

Artest went on to say that he hoped someone was there to hug those Heat players who were hurting, adding “I would have hugged them and got some ice cream.”

It's one thing to cry over not 4-peating, it's another to cry over a regualar season loss

A True Champion treats every game he ever plays as if it is a game 7.
