Forget cap considerations and salaries, if you could trade Kidd for Lowry straight up would you do it? Would like to hear some opinions, non Mav fans are welcome to comment too.

Since trading Brooks, Lowry's been averaging

23.7 ppg
8.5 apg

Lowry was straight up ballin' tonight against the Suns. I lost track of how many 30-foot jumpers he made tonight.

I'm gay for a black man with a little junk in his trunk. But that has nothing to do with this question.

No.

Mavs need high playmaking IQ over scoring. I saw Lowry too often doing some horrible brainfarts.

And the schedule was pretty weak.

Caveat: Not a Mavs fan, nor Rockets guy, rather an LAL guy.

Lowry is ballin. At this point in the season, the trade would benefit neither team. Dallas is fighting for the 2nd seed, and Houston scratching for the 'offs. A trade like this would drastically upset both teams and their rhythm. Also, while I like Lowry, he's been starting for 1/2 a season here, while Kidd has been a staple and carries a good deal more experience which often shows value in the postseason.

Kidd is a great passer, good at getting his surrounding cast good looks, hitting them in "their places," and doesn't need shots to feel involved. Lowry seems to enjoy getting his shots up, and Dallas doesn't need that with players like Dirk, Terry, Marion. Also Kidd provides the unique ability to matchup with opposing SGs and SFs at times due to his size (see: when Terry/Buckets/Barea is in the game), whereas Lowry would struggle with the bigger guys.

Side note, Lowry looks like he could trim some fat off, get that guy on a diet in the offseason.

Funny thing when I checked out Lowry's stats I couldn't believe he's only 6'0, the guy plays like he's at least 6'2. That guy is a baller.

Funny thing i think there was the same thread last year with Brooks when Brooks was a proclaimed "Top 8" PG

I would rather have Lowry instead of Kidd. His defense is better, he's improved his outside shooting, and Kidd's play-making isn't really needed on this team.

That was George Hill, not TP brah. Lowry is a very good defender and his defense is probably the reason he got the nod to start to begin with. He doesn't "look for his shots", he plays within the offense and is a good passer.
