Here in SA that opens early and has nice freshly baked bread and rolls. That is what I am looking for. You know, like in As Good As It Gets. Does such a place exist in SA? What about Panera Bread? Or does anyone know one of those special local place with great pan dulce? I'm serious and need to find a great pan place.

For pan dulce go to La Popular bakery on Culebra. Damn good. They also make bread for whitey. I've never tried but everything in the place smells good.

For baked bread, try Broadway Daily Bread-- one on Broadway and one on DeZavala. No pan dulce, sorry.

The problem with the best bakery's in town is where they are located, the money you save in fresh bread you lose buying a new car stereo.

Great Harvest Bread co. on Military turns out some pretty darn good stuff. No pan dulce though.

Biggest selection of pan dulce I've seen in San Antonio is at the panaderia in Mi Tierra.

I already have, in fact the bakery apologized for the flakiness of the security camera.
