He's currently retired, so maybe available...the Celts with the Murphy acquisition, should be stacked and no more interested...
I see him as the only big man worth a look and giving us a better chance to compete, at least for limited minutes, against the L.A. front line...and maybe he could be interested in a last run for the title.
Thoughts ?

HELL NO.

I'd rather have Haislip back.

Just kidding.

Not a bad idea.. although I think he could only play like 15 mins... but is he coming out of retirement???....

I presume that you didn't notice how out of shape Wallace was for the entire last season. Or the fact that he literally "gassed out" in the NBA finals versus the Fakers.

+1. All Wallace did with Boston was hang around the 3-point line.

Even if he was in shape, he's a big who wants to be a perimeter player. I don't think I've ever seen him pass up a 3-pt shot.

We need a Kevin Willis or Jerome Kersey type.

You're clearly drunk.
In that case I will try to blame the alcohol & not the man.

I don't know if as today he's totally out of shape...obviously, if so it is, you're right.
In case he's not, 15/20 minutes of good defense against a front line that's clearly abusing our big men, imho, is a thing we could consider carefully...(I dan't talk about offense, but clearly, considering our kind of "bonner game", a "spacing" four could be easily confortable in our plays).

if he's in shape, then it may happen.

He's not a bad option given there are no alternatives. He can get in shape by the end of the season.

I dont really care for the idea, but he wouldnt be asked to do more then 10 min. If he cant handle 10 min, then he needs to stay retired.:flag::flag:

Rasheed really wasn't very good even in the playoffs last year (he just wasn't as bad as he was in the regular season).

against the lakers (the only team he would really be of use against) - he jacked up 23 3s and hit only 5.

for the entire playoffs, he averaged a whopping 3 rebounds in 17 mpg.

Pass. Rasheed proved last year that he's no longer interested in putting in the effort it takes to be an NBA player.

If Wallace didn't have enough discipline and desire to keep himself in shape during all of last season, why would you think he would've kept himself in shape when he's presumably retired?

Wallace didn't even want to play last year - meaning he had informally retired after the 2009 season. The Celtics resorted to begging and pleading with him to come back. We all saw the miserable results. Nothing could get the guy motivated because he simply didn't care anymore. As a result, the Celtics got "had", but they have no one to blame than themselves.

Rumors of a possible Sheed return surfaced during the trade deadline and they were squashed because reportedly Sheed is happy retired. Ya think!

I still almost can't believe that the Spurs were going for Sheed over McDyess but at least we weren't alone since the Celtics and Magic were doing the same.

Sheed would only be worth it for Dwight Howard imo. He was unhealthy (bad back), overweight, and too unmotivated to piggy back now unless he's in awesome shape.

When it comes to ex-Celtics players the only one that seems to be available is Michael Finley and even though the Spurs could use a back up SF with experience in the system....he's also ancient.

It is hard to believe isn't it? Thank God that Sheed turned down the Spurs and they were forced to "settle" for Dice - if you want to call it settling. Not only has Dice been the more productive player, the past few years, he's also been far more professional than Sheed ever was. Dice has simply been a godsend and has been an ideal fit for the roster and culture of the Spurs.

DRob at his age is probably in better game shape than Wallace. Shit, did I say "probably". It's a fact.

True that. I can only imagine how horrible the Spurs would've been last season with a struggling RJ, injured Tony Parker, and having a fat and terrible Rasheed Wallace grabbing technicals left and right. In that scenario maybe the Spurs would've blown things up :wow :wow
