Gregg Popovich after the loss against the Lakers :

"It was a disappointing game, but the good news is that our team knows that. I know that, the players know that, they're grown, full of character, lots of experience, nobody has to say a word to them. They know."

http://www.ligafpnl.com/images/fotos-jug/antonio_mcdyess.jpg

Antonio McDyess on Tim Duncan :

"Tim takes everything personal when he has a bad game. He comes in early to work hard, so I look forward to him having a big game against Detroit because he always feels like he let the team down, not only himself."

Pistons have a habit of keeping it close for 3 or 3.5 quarters, whoever they're playing....Pop's best move would be to empty the bench for the second and third quarters, and then bring in the starters for 5 or 10 minutes of good execution to get the W.

McDyess longs for ‘icing on cake’ (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2011/03/09/mcdyess-longs-for-icing-on-cake/)
Jeff McDonald

At some point tonight, if Gregg Popovich is willing, Antonio McDyess will rise from his seat on the Spurs’ bench, strip off his warm-ups, head to the scorer’s table and reach a plateau he once thought impossible.

His 1,000th regular-season NBA game.

“I’m blessed to have made it this far,” said McDyess, the Spurs’ 36-year-old reserve forward.

It is an interesting coincidence that McDyess’ milestone is likely to come against the Detroit Pistons, who visit the AT&T Center tonight. It was in Detroit that McDyess’ career, once left for dead, was revived.

They're a team full of very quality role players who a lot of them are good enough to start, but none of them are above average. Except most of them don't seem to fit in well, can't play defense, and are nutcases. They've got a lot to work with though.

Rodney Stuckey's still a guy who can be a starter on the team for years to come, he's just not a point guard. Dude is a shooting guard, he's not even undersized. The dude's 6'5, he's a 2guard. Greg Monroe might be their star in the future.

It's a terrible sign that the Spurs shot 80% for the half and are only up 15. There's no way that percentage stays remotely that high. As it comes down, the odds are great that Detroit closes the gap. By staying even that close, the Pistons are likely to have a great opportunity to win this game.

By the way, the Spurs were a ridiculous 24-26 (92.3%) from inside the arc.

As great as Bonner is at shooting the three his inability to rebound or play defense is staggering. Once again, you can't help that Tiago would have provided good energy and defensive play if given the much needed minutes to develop.
