Spurs meet the Silver Surfer in Marvel NBA T-shirt
Hope this is some new info on some old news. Given the Spurs‘ out-of-this world record so far, who better than the Silver Surfer to represent the Silver and Black? Norrin Radd rocks the Spurs logo on his mighty board in the pictured Spurs T-shirt, just a sampling of the mighty merchandising team-up between Marvel Comics and the NBA.
In case you missed it last month, the House of Ideas and the Association unleashed these gaudy co-branded wearables that feature NBA team logos with Marvel’s finest superheroes in mostly sensible combinations — i.e. the mean green Hulk with the Boston Celtics and the Big Apple’s own Spider-Man with the New York Knicks. And you gotta love the mighty Thor with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the insane Red Hulk with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The only apparent misstep: the Lakers of course. (Says the unabashed Spurs fan.) I mean, why throw purple vomit on Iron Man, Spider-Man and the Avengers just to pair ‘em with Team Kobe, when all you need is Wolverine in his neo-classic yellow costume?
The Spurs Nation report above notes Wolverine will also represent the Spurs. Here’s hoping the powers that be tap Wolverine’s perfect Spurs look with his darker X-Force outfit.
Anyway, check out the Silver Surfer/Spurs tee here (http://store.nba.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11256454&cp=3515508.3515508&lmdn=Team). See the rest of the Marvel NBA tees here (http://store.nba.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=marvel&origkw=marvel&f=Taxonomy/NBA/2836124&sr=1).
