PointGuardU's sources have indicated that USC head coach Kevin O'Neill and his wife were drunkenly escorted away from their hotel after getting into verbal and physical altercations with Arizona fans on Thursday night.

O'Neill and his wife were in a hotel lobby of the JW Marriott and visibly intoxicated when they exchanged words with a group of Arizona fans. O'Neill reportedly threatened the fan that USC was going to “beat the hell out of Arizona.” Words were exchanged and our sources say that O'Neill's wife struck one of the Arizona fans. O'Neill and his wife were escorted out of the hotel, and Arizona fans were left wondering what just happened.

The fan was UA booster Paul Weitman and they ran into each other at the elevators. KO believes Weitman is responsible for his firing at the UA and obviously still holds a heavy grudge. Mind you Weitman is 70+ years old.

Apparently KO's wife, Roberta, started the melee by roughing up Wetiman with one of her rings. KO then got involved and when hotel security intervened the things got even uglier.

Chaos and confusion ensued. The craziness of what occurred led to a scuffle between O'Neill and Arizona fans.

For what it's worth, news didn't break about this at PGU. WildcatAuthority.com premium had news of this 30 minutes earlier, from everything I've seen.

Also, there are severely conflicting reports about what occurred. PGU's owner is a drug dealer with no press credentials. Gotta be careful with any content from that site. As someone who's contributed to several other certified competing fansites, most of PGU's written/posted content is stolen or exaggerated.

On top of that, he made some really embarrassing for his position/disparaging comments about Fendi Onobun and Jamelle Horne earlier.

About Fendi he flippantly said NFL teams have the roster space to waste a spot on an athlete like Fendi, and about Jamelle he asked a reporter how Horne's pro career was going, referring to his high ranking and unlikelihood of getting drafted.

He's just a bitter asshole who blames everyone else for his surliness and mistakes. He fired a Graduate Assistant after the GA's curse drew a tech. What a hypocrite. Ruin the career of someone in need to scapegoat a loss your coaching had more to do with.

For what its worth, O'Neill is still a walking dead, but his walking papers won't be issued until USC's season is done, as it now seems they sneak into the NCAAs. USC doesn't want a coaching issue to snag their chances.

They beat Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, Washington and UCLA and nearly beat Kansas (68-70) at Phog.

Again, people think the Pac-10 is down. They may have been early, but they have some very good non-conference wins, and three (Arizona, UCLA, USC) teams played #2 overall Kansas down to the wire. I think the Pac-10 can surprise with two or three teams advancing to the Sweet-16, maybe one to the Elite-8 if the bounces/break go right for them.

Had KO not gone Tyson from The Hangover on a 70-year-old man, I think they would have been the favorite to win the Pac-10 tournament and would have entered the NCAA's with a more secure slot and without all the lame-duck coaching issues and distractions.
