I know everyone understand why we'd preffer Lakers to play Round 2 away vs. Dallas rather than at home.
Should Spurs give a lil assist to Dallas?
I say YES :toast

I say no. It will be a waste, since by the looks of it the mavs will choke away the 2 seed to the lakers anyway.

The Spurs have been tanking way too many games lately. I'd much rather they played four complete quarters for once.

I don't think we'll have to tank it... the Mavs are going to come out with a vengeance in that one. Way more meaning to that game than to us.
How about the game versus the Lakers near the end of the schedule as well? ;)

The Bulls went 72-10, so unless the commissioner makes New Orleans forfeit their 2 wins against us for doping or playing an ineligible player, we ain't tying the Bulls when we already have 12 losses.

Seriously? Wow just wow. OP ... that is just sad.
maybe if it was closer to the end of the season and that #1 seed was locked up. i think the mavs will win regardless.

I agree, because
1. Dallas will beat us whether we tank it or not.
2. I would rather see Mavs win it all than Lakers. So I hope Mavs can beat Lakers in the western semi-finals with HCA.
Shouldn't tank any game until HCA throughout is wrapped up. If SA maintains the lead, they won't go full out against LA in the 2nd to last game of the season.

FUCK THEM BOTH! I would rather see neither win it all! NEITHER! Just US, you are not a fan if you say you would rather see either win it all! FUKK that it's us or nobody!

No! If spurs are 2 get into a position 2 win a 5th ring, they will have 2 be able 2 beat a healthy mavs team who can be formidable 2night not withstanding.
And that is IF the spurs make it to wca.....some of u think it's a foregone conclusion-ido not esp, w/la & other contendeers playying much better.

What is wrong with some of you, why don't you think we'll beat the mavs? They almost always choke in the playoffs no matter who they play. Even when they beat us in 06 they choked away a 3-1 lead, and we all know we should've won. There will be nothing better than sending them home again.

It's too soon to tank a game while teams like Boston are still relatively close to Spurs.
Saying that, Mavs keeping the 2nd seed is a better scenario for Spurs than Lakers having the 2nd seed. If Spurs lose against Dallas, helping Mavs to keep that spot will be a silver lining of the loss.

Don't tank, but like Bruno said a loss has its upside too.
Win/win for the Spurs really.

I haven't read through these replies yet but HELL NO !!! Never tank games to Dallas. Unfortunately, we won't be able to send them away packing in the playoffs because they aren't getting by the Lakers (HCA or not) but we can at least beat them in a regular season game.
No telling what Pop might do though.

yup I was half serious when I meant tank.
I actually meant not take it as a must win, cause it's also good that mavs win.

We don't know who we gonna face. But IMO Lakers away would make for a longer Dallas vs. Lakers series and a longer series would tire both teams. That is why...

If you're really entertaining the idea that the Spurs should tank against the Mavs (in order to help them secure the 2-seed), then your fear of the Lakers is duly noted.

you can call it fear if you want.
I call it preffering to run vs. a tired horse.

Mavs don't need any help against the Spurs if they are healthy.
Unfortunately, both Mavs and Spurs need help against a healthy Laker team.

The Spurs are going at least 6 with OKC so how much rest do you think they'll get?
Besides, the Lakers are 11-2 (something along those lines) on B2B's and are playing great basketball in the 2nd half of the season--when tired legs usually start to show.
The Lakers can beat the Mavs 4-3 or 4-0, won't change the fact that SA doesn't have the horses to handle LA in the paint for a lengthy series.
