Seriously, the refs are going to give the Heat ALL the foul shots and the Spurs NONE? That's what we've got so far. Considering the Spurs foul less than any other team in the league, that's gonna look pretty fucking suspicious...Eh, maybe. Doesn't change the fact that they're playing one on one and scared. No balls, all around.

Bonner in there too long killed all the momentum... then we couldn't make a shot. I thought Pop went too long without Tim and Tony... what sucks is that we might be down 20 soon and Pop will be happy just to pull the white flag...
Bad defense, bad calls, bad coaching, not making shots. You get what the Spurs are getting tonight folks. A complete ass rape.

What the fuck is Duncan doing sitting for 10 minutes of game time, when he's looking spry, playing well, they desperately need rim protection against this team and they have three days off coming up? Inexplicable.
Blair-Bonner shouldn't be utilized against elite teams, period. Pick one, depending on match-up and bench them in favor of Splitter.
Fucking atrocious coaching. This one's well on it's way to being a blowout. Abysmal defense, stagnant offense, no confidence, defeatist attitude. What a joke.

Pop played this wrong and it's cost the team. This was a burn your starters game. Not only because it was clearly going to take that to have a chance to win, but three days off follow this game.

nothing too dramatic 10 pts deficit but we need a solid 3rd quarter
Supergirl
03-14-2011, 08:12 PM
the thing is, the Spurs won't hit all their 3's, but when those are falling, the Heat have no answers for them, and they have no answer for Duncan.
Spurs will need some 3's to start falling the the second half, and they will need some points from the bench, something the Heat have yet to be able to produce. And they need to not let the refs in their heads. But all these things are very do-able, so I still believe the Spurs can win this.
On the other hand, I could totally see Pop throwing in the towel if it looks like the refs are out to fuck us just as badly in the 3rd quarter. It's not worth it. It's just one game.
There better be some make up calls in the second half.

Duncan and McDyess have been very solid so far, on both ends..the rest of the team has been shitty, especially TP, Jefferson, Bonner, Blair and Hill..
Parker had the right idea, so I can't fault him, he missed some shots he usually makes..
Blair and Bonner both got killed on D, as usual..
Hill is recovering from his neuter..
Jefferson is par/course for the last few weeks..he makes the occasional 3-pointer, but he's pretty much a non-factor..
Spurs need to keep attacking the rim, they will go to the line and it will open up the 3-point line..
Pop needs to be smarter with the rotations, unless he's going to full-conservative mode..

Pop is better of keeping blair in the starting lineup, since dice is the only center off the bench we have.
I do agree w/o Dice our bench sucks and pop is playing the bonner/blair awful lineup

LOL Danny Ainge betting on Shaq over Perkins.
On paper this is not a bad trade for Boston, I do like Green and Boston was awsome w/o Perkins during all year. Maybe they underestimated the emotional impact of the trade on the team

Thank you, Nets! We can lose tonight and be okay.
I wouldnt say that. The Spurs should worry about locking up the West before even thinking about securing home court throughout....

Seriously what was up with Pop's rotations? Playing TP the whole 1st quarter and Hill nearly the entire 2nd? :td
It's because he didn't get Ginobili and McDyess out at the first stoppage. Then there wasn't another one until past the 5:00 minute mark (when he usually subs them), so he burned a second timeout just to sub them out. By then, the entire rotation was thrown out of whack. The inexplicable 10 minute Duncan benching killed the team and probably ended the game. What's he saving him for? They don't play again until Friday.
Splitter should be the secondary defender on the elite face-up four's, which is what Bosh is. He wouldn't have any more trouble than Bonner off the dribble and he's as long, if not slightly longer than Bosh. I have no idea why Pop hasn't groomed him to play that role, because it's desperately needed against many of the elite teams.
The Blair-Bonner combo is a killer against elite teams, especially one with three guys who consistently get to the line like the Heat. Splitter needs to play. You can't have no one who can protect the rim out there for a long stretch against a team like this and expect to have success.

It looks like pop messed with "if it aint broke dont fix it". He might have overeacted to the lakers loss, and broke the balance of our team, it would be ok if splitter was getting minutes, but he isn't so our bench has no center!

This is a deficit that I sorta blame on pop because of inexplicable line-ups but the bench having a bad game, and the refs leaning toward the heat are making it uglier than it should be.

You might be right. If it's a emotion/team chemistry issue then the onus falls on Garnett to buck up. Ever since he was gifted to Boston we've been hearing the narrative about his supposed stellar leadership qualities.
