View Full Version : Lakers have 14 games left in the reg season...

-10 home
-4 away (with 3/4 coming against non-playoff teams)
-only two B2B's remaining, both in April.

The Spurs have locked up HCA throughout the playoffs, so that's not even an issue right now, but the Lakers have a more than legitimate shot at finishing better than Dallas, Miami, Chicago, and even Boston.

That would be HUGE. Only arena they'd HAVE to win in is San Antonio--which is clearly a non-issue for this team.

Not bad for an apathetic regular season bunch

I told Venti a few days ago that the Lakers had a good chance of catching Boston. And that was before we dropped two games to crappy teams and you guys beat some good teams.

Best case is probably that the Lakers close out the season 12-2. The Celtics and Bulls will need to drop 4 or 5 of their last 17. It's possible.

Wow, what a cupcake schedule.

Feels like the entire Laker schedule has been a cakewalk, including the B2B and roadtrips.

Damn. 10 out of the last 14 at home. What a gift from the league...

Our SOS is .551 and Spurs is .474 so that argument does not work.

I am pretty sure; wait no I am positive that every team plays the same amount of games home and away. But in Texas you may see it differently.

.551 is a gift from the league too. SOS for the Lakers should be .651.

Well, that or they just got done playing 14 out of 17 games on the road, including this 5 game stretch:

@ San Antonio
@ Atlanta
@ Miami
@ Dallas
Orlando

Yea. Not much of a gift, but then every team plays 41 home games and 41 road games so it's all good.

lol

Again, they just played 14 out of 17 on the road, 11 of those road games were against playoff teams, and they finished it up with this

@ San Antonio
@ Atlanta
@ Miami
@ Dallas
Orlando

Man, people seem to love using selective memory.

Damn. 10 out of the last 14 at home. What a gift from the league...

7-game road trip in December
7-game road trip in February
4-game road trip in March featuring elite teams

This home stand, at the most, evens everything.

and Ron-Ron's. A couple stupid turnovers in the 4th and choking a point-blank layup that would've tied the game with under a minute left.

That would have put them down 2(or was is 3, and down to 1). But it wasn't going to tie it.

Yes, they were down 90-88 when Ron missed that layup. Then Wade closed it with his driving score the next possession.

I'm almost positive of this...I was there, but I was also shitfaced at that point

Scroll down to the 1:04 mark of the play-by-play. It wasn't under a minute, but it was close enough.

Not enough rotation during the final quarter allowed the Heat to pull that one off. Oh well, I'll take the 10-1 record since the break and look forward to the next 6 at home. what's pretty nifty is the Show is 21-0 @ home when they have a lead going into the 4th. That's eerily similar to last year--which, was snapped towards the end I believe.

pretty much ..... tied 88-88

kobe turnover led to Lebron dunk

now this is what kills me ...... Kobe take a fallaway three pointer wirth 23 on the shot clock. HUH???

Ron get the rebound and bricks a one footer and it was downhill from there.

moreso, I don't blame that game on the last 90 seconds because they had another 46 minutes and thirty seconds to keep the Heat off the offensive boards ... they do that, kobe's bad decisions and ron ron's brick is a moot point.

I can live with that turnover because that was a great gamble on Wade's part. I really can't forgive that wtf three pointer with a new shot clock. It was unreal, like he was trying to lose the game

+1...When Mike Miller and Ilgauskas are grabbing offensive rebounds then there's a problem

As far as the ill-advised Kobe trey...it was a bad shot, but he took one like it the possession before that tied the game at 88, so it is what it is

That was one of those where it seemed like he took it because it would make him look super-awesome if it went down.

LOL SOS it's the NBA not the BCS at best Lakers get a few extra games against suns, Sacto and Gstate ...no one was bitching when suns and Sacto were contenders. That shit goes in cycles. But spurs definitely have a tougher division than the lakers right now. It would be even tougher if houston could stay healthy for once ...
