I'll just repost what I put in the NBA forum...
I don't have a problem with Jalen Rose being candid about how he felt while he played in college, but the Fab Five didn't accomplish shit and the lack of character some of the Michigan players had (remember, it's a whole team, not just FIVE players) got their wins and Final Four banners taken down. If anything, that documentary was about THE MEDIA blowing them up, not about their actual playing ability. Grant Hill just wanted an excuse to write on some shit, it was obvious Jalen didn't carry those ideas into adulthood. He just wanted some attention since no one is talking about PHX.

I think it's pretty obvious that Hill's piece is more about the black community as a whole than it is about Jalen Rose. Jalen's comments and the Fab Five special just gave Grant the opportunity to speak up about something that's been bothering him for quite a while.

I should have guessed there was something regrettable in the documentary when I received a Twitter apology from Jalen before its premiere.

Jalen Rose has always been a bitch... Grant Hill has always been a class act.
Bitches have been calling Class Acts Uncle Toms for years.
It's the way of the bitch.

Not until Jalen releases a mixtape where he claims to have slept with Tamia...it's basically Jay Z vs Nas at this point tbh.

Awesome response from Hill, though I took Rose's words in the documentary as echoing his feelings as a dumbass 18-19 year-old.

What is this in response to? Does one need to watch "The Fab Five" to understand the context here?

In ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary Jalen Rose said as a HS player and in his college years he considered Grant Hill an Uncle Tom and that Duke didn't recruit black kids like him who didn't know their fathers, go to public schools in the ghetto, and so on. It seemed like a lot of his remarks were bitterness directed at his deadbeat dad, and in Grant Hill he saw the kind of life he and his mother would have had if Jimmy Walker (Rose's father) was the man Calvin Hill was. Walker was the #1 pick in the NBA draft and carved out a pretty decent career in the NBA, but he ignored Jalen and his mother, leaving them in poverty. His hatred of his father was a huge motivator for his career. For instance, Jimmy Walker always wore #24, so in high school Rose would wear the opposite #42 as a constant reminder of the hate he had for Walker.
Rose knows he's out of line, but he's still trying to come off as a kid from the hood which he is obviously proud of.

Pretty apparent here that he still feels the same way.
Instead, Jalen and Jimmy King went on ESPN's NewsNow earlier this week and made the point that they feel that way right now, by defending their earlier statements as true... not true at the time, but true now.

see the second video link "Standing By Comments About Duke?" [Watch the whole clip, as Jalen first qualifies his remarks, before back tracking and endorsing "uncle tom" viewpoint 100%).

I don’t know what the big deal is… Jalen Rose will never understand what Grant Hill said…
Hill's response to Rose was nothing short of beautiful.
Including the very last line dagger.
Well done, Mr. Hill.

Grant's momma had it right:
“You can live without Chaucer and you can live without calculus, but you cannot make it in the wide, wide world without common sense.”
