Both came in with high expectations. Both now ride the pine.

wel thabeet was actually given good minutes to prove himself tiago was not. yes tiago isnt tim duncan but he can get way better and can defend the paint well thats for sure.
i woud much rather play a guy with upside than a 31 year old red head nerd who drools like a dog. oh and has been killing spurs potentials since he got here. people say they suck??....well tbh they never play .. i just dont get it

Thabeet. He needs the right system. Plus he's fucking huge.

I'd go with Splitter. Splitter has shown he can defend and right now has more bbiq than Thabeet. I'm looking forward to next year when Splitter will have a full off-season getting stronger and having Pop's system down.

My suspicion is that Tiago is better than he seems and that Pop just doesn't like him that much (i.e. the opposite of George Hill). Btw, George Hill has been looking like a deer in the headlights recently. I think Neal's excellent play might be hurting his confidence a bit.

Thabeet. He needs the right system. Plus he's fucking huge.
He's still highly unpolished and still so uncoordinated due to not playing organized ball as long compared to other 2nd year guys in the NBA. He could still be a defensive stopper in the middle given he works on it. He's never going to be an offensive option though. Collecting garbage points and easy alleys are his offensive ceiling.

Thabeet had higher expectations from everyone as a whole because he was the #2 pick while Splitter had less in general from the NBA community. But Splitter happened to have a stellar Euro career so Spurs fans expect him to be the next great big man.
But out of the two I'd pick Splitter hands down.

If Tiago stay healthy, he will do fine next year with more PT

Although Splitter is a more skilled player, Thabeet would instantly bolster our interior defense...

Thabeet didnt really come into the league with high expectations. He was more of a potential guy. No one expected him to contribute right away but no ones expected him to develop so slowly. Either way, Tiago is more experienced and accomplished, so I voted for him.

that splitter/griffin poll was obvious sarcasm, lol
The poll, itself, is insulting.
Splitter willl be a solid pro (at least). Thabeet is a certified bust (already).
A more fair poll would be Mahinmi or Thabeet?

no it wasn't. it was spurfan being full on retarded.

Actually, I thought Splitter might prove to the entire league that he was another gem of the Spurs FO in his first season. I don't understand what the deal is when Novak is getting more minutes. One must assume Splitter is in pop's doghouse or maybe he isn't getting the system as quickly as others or both. They don't even put him in when they are blowing out teams sometimes other than the last 20 seconds.
