View Full Version : Wade" Thunder better than Lakers

The Thunder, in limiting the Heat to 85 points in an 11-point win Wednesday, looked every bit as good as Boston and Los Angeles. "They're better," Dwyane Wade said of Oklahoma City. "They did a great job getting themselves prepared for the Western Conference. They are going to be right there in the thick of things, because they have added some beef up front. And they have athleticism." Yeah, the acquisition of Kendrick Perkins and Nazr Mohammed appears to have transformed the Thunder from a dangerous playoff team to legitimate contender. ... The Thunder looked like a young Boston. Their legs are fresher. They get off the ground quicker. And now Perkins and Mohammed give Oklahoma City added toughness and six hard fouls.

Agree with Wade here and this is not a diss on the defending champs. OKC has a tougher frontcourt (Ibaka/Perkins) and Westbrook this year is playing like a Top 12 player.

He said the Thunder are better than they were before the trade, not that they're better than the Lakers. Wade already stated that the Lakers are the team to beat, dummy. Fail thread.

LAL >>>> still than Thunder. Thunder need a couple more years of experience and Westbrooke has to move the ball around more, and Perkins is no match for an improved Bynum.

LAL >>>> still than Thunder. Thunder need a couple more years of experience and Westbrooke has to move the ball around more, and Perkins is no match for an improved and healthy Bynum - he can slow him down but Bynum will shut down whatever Perkins can give on offense and Jackson will take advantage of Perkin's injury. Thunder may have gained on defense some (more so by starting Ibaka, an incredible shot blocker and athlete, than Perkins IMO) but lose scoring by giving up Green.

Artest is the big difference maker twixt the two, especially with Perkins coming on line there. His stalking of Durant is becoming legendary and permits Bryant to concentrate on Westbrook at his leisure.

Agree as well, Thunder need one more scorer and giving up Green does not help in that regard. If they had gotten Perkins as a FA with still having Green or had gotten in return another viable consistent 15-20 point scorer, they could have been scary good.

CR is so sad looking for a silver cloud in the wreckage of the Heat's latest defeat ...

You guys are 2-0 on the Lakers I hope that comforts you IF we win the title and you are out after the 2nd round ...

Lost in all this might be that last few weeks Wade playing both ways as great as anyone in the NBA - absolutely a monster on defense many nights and he is the one if he really gets hot that could once again lead the Heat to a title IMO. I was in Miami last year and saw him drop 50 some points watching at a bar during a playoff game - he is unreally great when he is healthy and motivated.
