Joseph Gordon-Levitt Closes Deal For The Dark Knight Rises
Quote:
Following more than six weeks of negotiations, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has signed on for an undisclosed role in The Dark Knight Rises, reuniting the actor with Inception director Christopher Nolan and co-stars Tom Hardy and Michael Caine.

In addition, Variety reports, indie actress Juno Temple (Cracks, Kaboom) is being considered “for a supporting role as a street-smart Gotham girl.”

Gordon-Levitt, who starred in the sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun before moving on to films like Mysterious Skin, Brick and (500) Days of Summer, has long been rumored for roles in The Dark Knight Rises as varied as The Riddler, Black Mask, Deadshot and Alberto Falcone.

Although Nolan revealed five months ago that The Riddler won’t be in the film, the other characters certainly remain a possibility. The trade paper gives more weight to Deadshot, describing him as a member of the League of Shadows — the organization introduced in 2005′s Batman Begins, and rumored to return in the new film with Talia al Ghul as its leader.

Gordon-Levitt joins a cast that so far includes Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. The Dark Knight Rises begins filming in April for release on July 20, 2012.

JGL would make a better black mask than deadshot. Chris Nolan said he won't be recasting the joker.

They need to scrap this whole current Batman. Hire Ahnold at Mr Freeze, Jim Carrey as the Riddler, and Clooney as Batman. I call it a vision. Sounds like one of the best Batman's yet, huh?

Is it bright where you are?
Have the people changed?
Does it make you happy you're so strange?
And in your darkest hour
I hold secrets flame
We can watch the world devoured in it's pain

Nope. The Beginning is the End is the Beginning is good, but it's nowhere near the best Smashing Pumpkins song.

Director Christopher Nolan and actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard will come together for an Inception-style reunion in The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final film in the Batman series.
Warner Brothers Pictures announced Tuesday that Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon. Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a board member at Wayne Enterprises who helps Wayne resume his late father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.
“When you collaborate with people as talented as Marion and Joe, it comes as no surprise that you would want to repeat the experience,” said Nolan in a statement. “I immediately thought of them for the roles of Miranda and Blake, and I am looking forward to working with both of them again.”
Michael Caine, who had a brief role in Inception, will also reclaim his staple role as Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred in The Dark Knight Rises.
The Dark Knight Rises, which also stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, is set for release on July 20, 2012.

It's like Inception meets the batman series! Definitely would be a good Black Mask, but please don't have him revive the Joker. That would basically kill the credibility of Nolan's Batman in my opinion.

He sure is short.

Which (in addition to Nolan's adherence to a somewhat real world feel so far) makes me think TDKR won't go too overboard in depicting the effects of Venom. Hardy is somewhere in the 5' 8" - 5' 10" range, which is actually a bit taller than Bane is when not juicing (per the specs listed in Batman: Arkham Asylum).

Obviously . . .

He looks huge on some of the comics I've seen. It really doesn't matter to me. It's not like I don't already have suspend a shit ton of belief to watch a Batman movie anyway.

this looks like the suck

Looks like the kind of movie that some people will unnecessarily praise as the greatest superhero movie of all time, and one of the best films ever made, but that some people will criticize as being horribly overrated without ever actually watching the film.

Kinda like the last one.
