I was just flicking through the remaining free agents and realised what we should have done... released Bonner ("Later, Rocket!") and signed Steve Novak for the minimum. He's got a sweeter shot than Bonner and is otherwise pretty similar. Yes, he's one-dimensional, but so is Bonner, at a saving of $3mil/yr. And yes, I am serious... kinda.
